Easy second luxury shave this evening. I'm a big fan of Ramblin' Man (clone of Creed Himalaya), and it's arguably my wife's favorite scent.

I was already a fan of his fragrances and his soap base. I’m impressed he’s such a capable machinist as well!

Easy shave with Roam Two this morning. I really love this scent.

Also, damn, this razor shaves really nicely. I'm glad I picked it up.

Thanks for the reminder, I'm looking forward to it!

Oh, I thought you were talking about yourself not a soap πŸ˜„

  • Brush: Zenith - B21 boar
  • Razor: RazoRock - Game Changer .76
  • Blade: Astra Superior Platinum (2)
  • Lather: Barrister and Mann - Seville
  • Post: Pinaud - Clubman Aftershave Lotion
  • Post: Stirling - Glacial Unscented Aftershave balm
  • Frag: Stirling - Stirling Gentleman EdT

A nice combination of barbershop scents for a rainy evening.

My first shave with the .76 plate on the GC went well, though it's definitely more aggressive. I gave myself a small nick on the jawline, but otherwise it was a drama free shave.

Glad to hear it!

Very cool, I look forward to hearing your thoughts as you compare these.

I have my first GEM razor on its way to me, it should be delivered tomorrow actually. It's a 1940-43 Clog-Pruf that looks in excellent shape, and it was only ~$15 shipped on the bay!

I love a good Stag shave.

I felt more accepted by the forest wildlife on my morning hike.

  • Brush: Simpson - T2 Trafalgar 24mm Synthetic
  • Razor: Chiseled Face - Titanium Legacy Razor
  • Blade: Personna - Lab Blue (2)
  • Lather: Barritser and Mann - Rhapsody (Soft Heart base)
  • Post: Chiseled Face - Ghost Town Barber Aftershave splash
  • Post: Barrister and Mann - Rahpsody Aftershave Balm (Soft Heart base)

A little under the weather from a couple vaccines yesterday evening. It was an easy and smooth shave though.

No irritation from the T2 this morning, I think I maybe have just been splaying too much with previous attempts. This brush performs much better when I just paint the lather and water on.

Have a good day y'all.

Oh nice, I’ve considered doing the same

Omega 10048 might be my favorite brush so far. It just keeps getting better the more I use it.

I had the day off today, so I hacked together a port of the SOTD emacs plugin that @PorkButtsNTaters666@sub.wetshaving.social uses.

It's still a pretty rough implementation, but I wanted to share the repository here in case others who use Neovim might want to help me kick the tires. I'm fully aware that this is a niche within a niche, but you miss 100% of the shots you don't take!

I know there's some cleanup that needs to happen, and the config file format could use a bit more thought, but it works well enough for now. If anyone feels compelled to use it I'd welcome any feedback either here or on the repo itself.

The code is hosted on GitHub here.

I usually face lather and get consistently good results at this point.

However, when I get a .5 oz. or less sample I'll smush the soap down into a thin, even layer using one of those collapsible slow-feed pet bowls. Every time I get a foamy bullshit lather.

I'm unsure how to get an equally wet and slick lather with the bowl. Do I just need to keep adding water? Move to the face sooner? Give up and grow a beard?
