That's Comrade Earnhardt!

Serious: Dale Earnhardt is/was a cultural hero for rural conservatives, as he was one of the greatest NASCAR drivers of all time, so it's been fun for Lemmy meme artists to use his likeness for aggressively left-wing memes. It's a little bit "Ha ha funny NASCAR man makes memes about communism" and a little bit "conservatives will believe anything delivered to them in meme form so let's capitalize on that".

And they choose this path because LGBT folks have been getting bullied, assaulted and murdered for just existing for about as long as civilization has existed. If they don't stand up for themselves nobody else is going to do it for them.

The key word is "trying" - most of them are trying to live their lives largely without bothering anyone - except that "anyone" is composed of a lot of people that can't put up with their existence. Not through any fault of the person, just because of the way they are.

I do get what you're saying. But it's a half step away from deriding them for their very existence, which is disgusting. They are attempting to break the status quo in the same way the civil rights movement did.

Yeah that's not what it's about at all. Hospitals need funding. Hospitals do not need a profit motive. Remove the profit motive and socialize the costs of healthcare. Just like every civilized country does it.

It never happened once, kids and teens just saw people being happy transgender folks and decided that hey, maybe this might be a thing that's good for me too. And then it was. Republicans, in classic alt-right fashion, saw someone being happy and immediately came to attempt to crush it under their boot. Healthy sexuality and exploration of the self became "they're out here choppin' dicks off your sons! Right now! It's happening!"

Didn't happen at your school, maybe. I grew up in public school in the hood. There were maybe 15 kids in the student body, myself included, that were there to learn anything. Everyone else was causing fights or stealing shit or just trying to be funny all the time.

They aren't going to pass the class like that. Damn sure not at medical school. The students are only wasting their own time and money. Someone who makes straight C's through med school still gets to be called Doctor at the end of it but these kids aren't going to make even close to that grade if they're not paying attention.

They are giving themselves the go ahead to continue shit like that and nothing that you or I or anyone says will stop that.

Why not both? It can always be both of them.

He's also the sort convinced that welfare queens living it up with brand new cars and designer clothes are not just a real thing, but a common thing that happens

So where's his new phone and fancy car then? If it's that easy, go out and get your free money, king. Stick it to the Dems or whatever. If Winn-Dixie pays shit then go get on that wonderful welfare. After he buys his new car he should have some money left over to buy some drugs, too, right? That's how they think this works, correct?

Sorry, I guess YOU in particular aren't really the person who needs to hear my scathing sarcasm, but I'm getting really really extremely tired of this viewpoint.

Rising is very very different to any other MGS game. Fair warning. I recommend every MGS game wholeheartedly, but don't play Rising and then pick up Snake Eater or MGSV expecting it to be more of the same.

I don't think the Waagh field is quite that strong in canon lore, but holy shit that makes way more sense than it should. I never even considered this as a possibility.

If only the willfully ignorant were the only ones suffering, I wouldn't care about your opinion. You have the right to go die choking on your own phlegm, doesn't bother me. But spreading misinformation kills people. You are killing people. You are a murderer by proxy. I hope with all my heart that you reap the appropriate rewards of that.
