duck.ai is very helpful for niche/specific questions I have but can’t find online. It’s also helpful for super quick questions that don’t really warrant a forum post. However, I always take things with a grain of salt.

I only have 7 holes, though.

Green because it’s the best. Duh?

Edit: Most greens* Some are horrendous…

I strive to be this good with pen one day.

Your style is so recognizable! I instantly knew this was your work.

One time my teacher in high school wrote somewhere in a HUGE word problem that we’d get credit if we filled in letter E (which was on the scantron machine but not a valid option for that question). They were just seeing who actually read the question from start to finish.

I've tried this, but I'm really enjoying using pen right now, and I'm just not skilled enough yet to get precise tones with a pen. I've tried it (and used different shading method for different textures), but it was rough, lol. I might switch to pencil, or I might also just tough out ink shading until I get better; we'll see.

I am already noticing some issues with these drawings after coming back to them with fresh eyes, but they’re still definitely an improvement! Yesterday after my post, I filled about a page and a half of my sketchbook practicing the Loomis method over and over again. I also tried to show some emotion in the faces, which was definitely a challenge, lol. Now, I’m only using pen, so I can’t use the Loomis method in my actual drawings, but all of the practice definitely helped me place things as I can estimate where the guide lines would be. Thanks a lot to @makingStuffForFun@lemmy.ml and @late_night@sopuli.xyz in particular!

I’m very new, so I’m not sure, but what I’ve heard is that the guy/gal that ran feddit.de had more important life things to deal with, so the community stepped up to create a new instance to replace it.

While that one guy with the tall head was intentionally silly, I think I’m struggling most with proportions. I’m using a reference image for most of these, but none of the end results look much like the people in the photos. I’m also not using a grid as I’m doing this all with pen. I know I’ll eventually get it with practice, but is there anything specific I could try?

Remember when the Hummer H1 was the biggest, most obnoxious passenger vehicle on the road?

This one is parked between two new Blazers, which are as wide and have distinctly taller hoods.

Would you like it to grow so all of your other, non-technical interests could have active communities? Do you want more people for moral and philosophical reasons? Or are you enjoying being in a niche? Are you happy to have a platform full of techie individuals, even in communities not explicitly tied to anything techie (much like this one)?

My answer to all of these is “yes,” so I’m not quite sure what I want. What are your thoughts?

I’ll go first. After your turn the water off in the shower but before you get out, use your hands to wipe off any standing water on your body. Maybe even give your legs a bit of a shake. This way, you won’t drip nearly as much when you get out, keeping the floor and your towel drier.
