Nutzt du's im Browser oder über FreeTube / NewPipe?
Kann auch sein, dass die Entwickelnden wieder einen Umgang damit finden oder es von der Nutzungshäufigkeit o.ä. abhängt. Aber es hat keine Zukunft, wenn Google / Alphabet es nicht will.
Ich würde so oder so gern einen Drive weg von GAFAM auch bei nicht so ernstem Content mit verstärken, mit erzeugen, mit nutzen. Gemeinsam sind wir unausstehlich.

Das Gute ist, ich stelle jetzt in NewPipe öfter als vorher auf #mediacccde oder #peertube / #Framatube, #soundcloud oder #Bandcamp um. Dachte erst, ich müsste Rainer #Mühlhoff s hervorragenden Vortrag für den Re-Post erst hier in @annaelbe s oder meinen Toots suchen, was bekanntlich nicht so easy ist. Danke, Anna, den Vortrag zu »#KI«, #Feedbackschleifen und beider Verträglichkeit mit der #Nachhaltigkeitscharta der #VereinteNationen #UN habe ich seit deinem Post nach dem #C3 oft gehört und empfohlen. Also, in NewPipe auf media.ccc.de umstellen und »Mühlhoff« suchen hat vollkommen gereicht:

Ich sach jetz ma frech: Wer braucht Big Tech Non-Social Media? Ich weiß, dann kommt die Reichweitendiskussion. So einfach wie für mich ist es nicht für alle. Aber bitte, so lange ihr zweigleisig fahrt, helft nicht dabei, das Fediverse irrelevant zu machen, indem ihr hier nur in eine zusätzliche Flüstertüte ruft.
Natürlich gibt es hier auch, zusätzlich zu den individuellen Moderationsmöglichkeiten, Moderation auf Instanzenebene, aber viel transparenter. Und auch hier arbeiten Algorithmen, aber entsprechend dem nicht gewinnorientierten »Geschäftsmodell« fördern sie nicht emotionalisierende, sondern diskursive Inhalte.
Threads will auch als Datenstaubsauger ins Fediverse, um auch an die Inhalte heranzukommen, die wir nicht im Internet veröffentlichen. Jedes kann threads-Instanzen komplett blocken. Manche Instanzen föderieren gar nicht mit Threads, manche nur eingeschränkt.

Meine (nicht-öffentliche) Nextcloud und bald bestimmt mehr ist auf (A)steroiden, cause proudly hosted by uberspace.de. (Steroide sind natürlich nur für Maschinen OK, und auch nur so lange, wie sie sich nicht gewerkschaftlich organisieren, wie bei Stanislav Lem.)

@GreyTechnician When I feel like a dumbo cause all my decades of job experience with IT (but with fucking Windows) don't help me as much and fast as I'd wish they would: my current Linux distribution – Mint. When I succeed, Linux Mint is the best.
@stifle867 Do you know of any plans of publishing the app on f-droid.org as well? Though you don't say it, your ad is distributed by @opensource so I guess it's an open source app and probably qualifies for F-Droid. Many open source lovers deny to use any Google accounts and services, and if the dev cares for them ...
@On Rustdesk server software seems free to me. It is open source and free of charge. If you need service because you don't succeed installing it, that service will not be free. I cannot see any limitation to use rustdesk with their or own relay servers, but I have not understood yet the difference the company defines between managed and unmanaged users. I guess it depends on your usage if you hit any hidden limits in the free plan, if they exist.
Alternatives for GUI remote control include VNC. But I'd tunnel it through SSH because it's weakly encrypted, at least the last time I checked it.

@socphoenix @On If nothing with RDP necessary or possible: https://rustdesk.com/ is the easiest and recommended, it's much like Teamviewer but free. (Free as in FLOSS, and free of charge as well.) @socphoenix @On RDP server and client is Microsoft built-in, but bound to license restrictions. In general, 2 concurrent rdp sessions on one machine are possible without a need to extend the standard Windows license / price. You can add and license the rdp services role / terminalserver role to a machine setup and have more flexibility: more users, more administration of user sessions.
If your target is a Windows machine, you need a user that is a member of the target machine's local rdp or local admin security group, either directly or via a domain security group, start a client software (below) depending on your machine's operating system, enter the target machine's address (ip or name) and user name and password, and have a desktop session on the target machine in a window to remote comtrol it. You might need a VPN or citrix connection to the target's domain and you might need to qualify a user domain of your login credentials, but that's it in general.

NewPipe erhält reproduzierbar den http-Status-response 403 (forbidden) bei mir. Und in piped.kavin.rocks im Browser am PC heißt es reproduzierbar: Login to show you are not a bot, o.ä. FreeTube am PC bekommt ebenfalls keinerlei Videos mehr von googlevideo. Ich probiere Libretube, und Invidious im Browser.
