Thank you for sharing and I’m glad you like the community! It’s sad for me too that people don’t post/comment much. I posted a lot in the beginning but now I’m letting people post more as I see it having quality over quantity. I would make more interactive posts if I had the time, but anyone is free to do it :) For example, there was someone posting they favourites hip-hop albums of the month

I’ve been looking for something like this for a while !! There’s some self hosted solutions alternatives for trakt, but I don’t want the hassle… A fedi letterbox like would be really amazing! (Imagine integrating it with Jellyfin to rate your films after watching, sharing those reviews and film lists on mastodon, pixelfed and Lemmy, a dream would come true)

Still missing c/beerporn on lemmy! Anyone interested in creating it? :)

Completely agree with that, but you’re not expecting me to mod various communities changing accounts and instances all the time, do you?

I have some communities, being in one place is easier. :)

How to upload? - Right now Lemmy.world (and other Lemmy Instances) don’t accept gifs uploads. Convert your gif or video file to webp or apng to upload (you can use some online and offline programs). The files (in webp) should be less than 20 seconds long or they will not work. Sometimes when uploading there's a fail, try uploading the file again.

Please try to keep the files small. Also, if you can, donate to your lemmy instance.

How to see? - Gifs in ‘apng’ won’t play automatically in some instances in webview and you need to open the image in a new tab (they do in Voyager for example). Gifs in ‘webp’ format should play fine in webview and in most Lemmy apps.

The Wolf of Wall Street (1929) is today believed to be a lost film. The only part of the movie known to still exist is this brief montage sequence created by Slavko Vorkapić.

Director Abel Gance included a triptych sequence in 'Napoléon' (1927) that needed three screens to be properly projected

Hitchcock achieved this shot in 'Champagne' (1928) by using an over-sized glass with a lens placed in the bottom
