Things like turning the water off, or unplugging things... At minimum I shut the water valve and unplug pretty much anything I can. I'll usually set the thermostats to be a little more extreme than usual. Do you do anything?

The important part of the description

Almost 2 years ago, I saw a video that Steve Mould made about something called an atomic trampoline and the moment that I saw it, I really wanted to one. The only sad part is that it is now impossible to buy one, so instead, I decided to just make one myself.

NSFW animal reproductioncanid penises have a "knot" at the base of the penis that "ties" them with their partner.

I just got invited to a meeting for a time zone that doesn't exist this time of year. In the US EST does not stand for Eastern time, it stands for Eastern Standard Time (~November-~March), EST is not an active time zone, it is EDT Eastern Daylight Time. Its a pointless thing, most people probably don't notice, but its wrong.

Fake internet points to anyone who knows why DB-9 bothers me.

Edit: corrected a missing n in an eastern

Everybody always says modern pop music is terrible, your suffering from recency bias. Take a look at top 40s from 20 years ago. You'll probably see a bunch of songs you forgot about because they didn't stand the test of time. Old music isn't better, you just only still hear the good stuff.

Video description for those who use a non US lemmy instance:

I'm back and I'm talking about old stuff that I miss

My best description would be a video essay about how interactions with technology change how media is looked at.

In the last week of December, 2028, humanity forgot about more than a century of pop culture. You've probably never thought about it, and never found it strange — but the reason is an artificial intelligence called Earworm.

⏩ is a series of YouTube videos from a future.

WHY WE FORGOT THE 20TH CENTURY

WRITTEN and NARRATED BY: Tom Scott ANIMATED BY: Jordan Husmann http://jordanhusmann.com

the next dev, Hey this obscure feature probably doesn't work, should I fix it... No, I'll just patch "temporary-fix-don't-use" and let the next guy fix it properly.

According to Gamers Nexus, the microcode issues and oxidation issues are different issues. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OVdmK1UGzGs

From my very short look, the microcode issue causes too high a voltage. From CPU knowledge, the high voltage accelerates breakdown of the dielectric layers.

Because youtube metadata is having issues, here is the description:

AC's fursuit guest of honor was the incredibly talented Sardyuon from Japan, and he wowed Anthrocon attendees three times on the main stage in the Spirit of Pittsburgh Ballroom at the convention center.

This was the first of his performances, his United States debut on Friday night. It was his first time to the states and it was an honor to be graced with his presence. Watch, enjoy, and be astounded at one of the greatest fursuit talents in the world today!

Among the first fursuit videos I cam across. Its an oldie but still one of my favorites.

Its a fursuit video in a furry video community, let the down-votes commence.

You might not like the prices, but computer components, cpu, gpu, motherboard.. keep getting better each generation, some bugs cause issues, but that's due to trying to maximize performance, not cheeping out. 3-d printer tech. In fact, thinking about it, a lot of competitive products keep their quality. Also small brand premium products in general.

Not a fan of the beach or swimming, but I like being outside, but its too hot and too humid. I sleep better in the winter too. Spring and Fall are great with 75 F highs.

I would think it would be dangerous to connect yourself to an open network, so probably.

I remember epic meal time, I think that was winding down in 2012. I think TV chefs are still obsessed with bacon.

Its funny how youtube has its circles. Tom scott is in the science youtube sphere, with Smarter Every Day (Destin), Technology Connections (Alec), Practical Engieneering(Grady), Stand Up Maths (Matt Parker), Steve Mould, Numberphile, Computerphile, and many, many others.

Tom Scott is Nice in this category as his videos are usually short, to the point, interesting, and weekly. He has some longer form content and game shows on other channels to. Overall if your interested in science and trivia game show youtube, he's worth a watch. His other channels are Technical Difficulties, lateralcast, and no longer used Matt and Tom.

Random credit card facts: The first ~8 digits are related to the credit network and issuing bank. Visa cards all start with 4. The last digit is a checksum and it only is really useful to validate the rest of the digits were entered correctly.
