Good request. I would also like to know, especially for geopolitics / Ukraine / Middle East. A lot of the people I follow (followed) on xitter haven’t moved over yet.

Hey that's interesting. I haven't used Firefox on iphone for a while because I didn't think it was possible to add a blocker. Is that now possible? If so, which one do you use?

Although one has to ask... When is the last time you ran your fingernail along your jeans and left a permanent indentation?

[–] infix@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Ah. I didn’t know that, thanks!

Damn! Sometimes patience is necessary for these things

That's great info thanks. Do you have the sim running on both phones while your making sure it runs ok?

[–] infix@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Username and passwords should be stored with your Apple ID, right? At least I think so.

Yeah, that's fair enough what you are saying. Although my icloud package is tinyyyyy haha. Thanks!

Great, thanks! Nice to see I wasn't the only one thinking of doing this.

Thanks. Yeah, biggest ones for sure will be Authy app, banking and Whatsapp for me.

Hi folks, not sure if 'clean setup' is the right expression, but anyway... I've been sporting an iPhone X for 6 years and tomorrow I get my new iPhone 15 Pro. I was thinking of setting it up clean in the sense of manually adding my apps, email data etc, and not doing a simple transfer from the old iPhone.

Maybe it doesn't make sense to do it, maybe it does. I thought it could make sure there isn't any residual crap from the old phone, but to be honest I don't have any data to 100% assert that. Have any of you started with a phone replacement this way, or do you consider it pointless? If you have done it, any tips?

All opinions welcome, thanks!

You're right! After sleeping on it, just started the return process.

Any ex-Tesla employees willing to take up an offer? 😜

Hey Memmy devs and app users,

I asked you folks about whether you were considering charging a fee or subscription for app users the other day (a lo Apollo) the other day and thanks for your answer. Respect your vibe.

Anyhow, I would also like to contribute to the instance I have my profile on and thought it would be great if there were a way of enabling it within Memmy (or under its future name), for ease of function, “basically”. Maybe this is too much of an ask. Maybe Apple fees get in the way. I have no idea tbh.

What do y’all think? Would love to know

Hey all, Still occasionally dipping into Reddit but am finding myself gradually transitioning to Lemmy (shoutout to Memmy!). I was wondering if anyone here knows, what has reddit traffic been like these last few months? Is it declining or holding strong? Thanks

Hey team. Thanks for a great app!

I was just wondering, and not sure if you have already mentioned it, but what is your plan for a funding model for the app in the long term?

Some kind of one-off payment maybe, or a subsrciption model?

After all the crap at Reddit with Christian being essentially priced out of making an affordable app by spez, it’l be interesting to see how you plan to go forwards financially here. I ask this knowing that there will be ongoing costs your side and I would willing to help fund that.

On a side note, I guess Memmy users are signing up through many different instances. Apart from whatever your funding model is for the app, would it be possible to also add a payment option for those who want to donate to whichever instance they use? IMO that’d be a pretty useful extra feature.

Would love to know what y’all think.

Hey. Just a quick shout-out to the devs at Memmy for helping me have a fun introduction to Lemmy and the growing world of the Fediverse. Really love what you’re doing, so thanks!

Hi folks. Lemmy noob here, what are we calling the equivalent of subreddits?
