Hey everyone,

I'm a complete beginner in the world of soldering, and I'm facing some frustrating issues with my soldering iron tips. After just a few minutes of use, my soldering iron tips can't melt the solder anymore.

I always keep a sponge nearby and make sure to clean the tip frequently, just like I saw in tutorials. However, the tips still look a little "burned"/ black. Am I doing something wrong? Or could it be related to the soldering equipment I'm using? I bought a $20 kit on Amazon just to practice.

The green one is such a beauty, especially if one were to install the black buttons. Can't justify buying one though since I already have a 2+ which is still running fine

Years of brand recognition down the drain. Twitter was such a big part of our culture that you literarily have movies, tv shows, music promoting it indirectly.

Less than 1% of Twitter users signed up for blue. Elon, nobody in its right mind wants your WeChat clone.

Since there will probably be a big increase in users, some kind of "allocation" mechanism would be great. Lemmy.ml already told people to use other instances because they are not able to handle the load. However, I guess the main problem will be that people new to the Fediverse will just try to join the biggest site.

I was also thinking about running my own instance to help but I am not sure how the whole legal aspect of it works. Like, if I'm responsible for all the content posted on my server. At some point it would just become impossible to moderate.
