There is a song that I can no longer access on an old iPod. It was that song "Better Off Alone" by Alice DJ, but it had like extra songs added into it kinda like a mashup of a few other songs. How I WISH I could go back and download it on Limewire. :(

I certainly hope so. There's definitely a taboo that comes with bi and pan folks - at least what I've seen anyway. The idea that we must conform to either this or that is becoming more and more outdated. The pushback from certain groups however continue to be fierce.

I would be super stoked if the creator of RiF created something for Lemmy. But to Sync's credit, I've been able to mess around a little with the settings and make my feed look like RiF in dark mode.

I won't hold my breath for RiF making a comeback (LiF??). However if it does, I'm all in. It was a really sad day when I had to say goodbye to it.

There's a large base of people who think DEI initiatives are unnecessary. I agree with you in that the United States ought to strive for promoting these ideas, programs and staff - but there's a huge push back from many people.

A common argument I'll always fall into is the idea that if you work hard, you'll be successful - no matter who you are and what you look like. We know this isn't always true and it's why we have DEI initiatives.

To the people who don't want to promote it, I'm not sure how they can justify it.

I'm not sure if it falls under the category of "hate," but there are some mean comments I've noticed popping up on here. For instance, someone posting a question on "no stupid questions" and getting a mean response. In my opinion, it's unavoidable on the internet. Mean comments are to be expected. However, I had the thought to respond and defend the original poster. But I was too afraid to do so in FEAR of getting the same mean response from someone else.

I think it comes from lurking on Reddit and seeing how people responded to each other. But I think we have a responsibility here in this platform to call out hate and even mean comments.
