Two things can be true. Israel can be committing genocide in the middle east, and terrorists in Canada can be systemically targeting Jewish Canadians. Recognizing one of these truths does not negate the other.

I just bought a drive from them last month (from Canada) and just received a $60 duty bill. The time before that I got nothing. YMMV

I agree with the sentiment, but in this case Mozilla is a non-profit.

And before someone jumps in.. Yes, Mozilla Corporation is technically for profit, but it's 100% owned by the non-profit Mozilla Foundation.

Percentage wise, I'm sure support is very high. But for a petition like this, I'd be shocked if even 0.01% percent of people have even heard of it.

Personally, I support the petition (obviously) and wish it could have succeeded. But even I think that in the grand scheme of all the problems in the world, this is very far down my wishlist.

Funny you compared the atmosphere to Night in the Woods, the same sound designer did both games.

If there's one thing you can count on, it's the greed of corporations. That means they will try to cut costs every means possible in order to maximise profit. If going green saves them a dime, they will do it. This isn't a hard concept to understand.

Will they reduce prices rather than pocket the change? Probably not.. But y'all are acting like the carbon tax is meant to reduce prices??? It's meant to save the fucking planet.

Sure, that happens in the short term. But it also incentivizes the biggest polluters to reduce polluting as there is now a cost associated with polluting. Maybe a competitor is able to come in with a greener process and thereby undercut the competition. This is like, capitalism 101. It boggles my mind that people can argue that a carbon tax doesn't work.

Also... News flash: the world is fucked and the cost of everything is going to rise no matter what. It's time to get uncomfortable

That's why you get a big fat rebate in your chequing account every 3 months. It's meant to offset the rising costs of goods such that end consumers who don't pollute a ton themselves are in fact not carrying the burden.

I think you touched on how to make pay it forward work: make it as low effort as possible.

In this case, while you had lots of work, the people "paying it forward" had almost none. Thus the chain was able to go for as long as you were willing.

Yep. Prior to last year if person X told me person Y was antisemitic, my opinion of person Y would have dropped.

Today? It's about a 33% chance for each of X, Y or both being pieces of shit.

Wanted to see if I could do anything exciting with the new Satisfactory dedicated server API. There's no documentation of it anywhere online, but there's a random markdown file documenting it in the installation directory. Got it working but turns out it can't do much. Oh well

Ignoring the obvious, I was not expecting that kind of money being dropped on the interior based on the photos of the exterior.
