I’d love to use tape but so far couldn’t bring myself to make the Jump cause of the upfront cost of the drive. Other than that it would sound great to have tapes of my digitized bluray collection so as if my nas should fail unrecoverably, I could simply setup a new one and copy back the data instead of having to digitize everything again.

Agreed. That feature bundled with a lists kind of feature would be great.
As when you browse a new instance you might come across a community for a topic you are already subscribed to on another instance. Like „technology“. Now, since you can’t really tell if they post the exact same stuff as the community you already subscribed to, it would be neat if you could just subscribe to the new one as well, group them and then read just the technology group posts.

Thanks, that’s what I have been missing.

I’ll be damned. You are right. My bad for not reading the release notes through.
Thought for the devs, though. Seeing as some people might be getting the app later, there should be an onboarding thing for these functionalities I think.

I mean, in a couple of updates, I don’t think people would read through all the old release notes and stuff.

I found the accounts settings and I see both my accounts and what the current account is but I see no way how to switch the current account. Does anyone know how to do that in the newest update from today?

Hi guys,

I’m aware it’s not really cricket to start comparing different lemmy apps when they are still so young. I was just wondering having read a post for mlem. Such a sidebar would be a great addition. It would free a spot on the bottom bar. What is now “traverse” could be the sidebar in “feed” you could use this space in the bottom bar for a dedicated settings tab.
