Do you know how to do this on Memmy?

[-] Wailzy@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

You’re so welcome!

Thank you soooo much!!! It all came together so nicely!

And thank you again, your wishes mean so much to me!

Thank you so much!!! We were proper laughing. My mom had put straws in the cake to stabilize it because the icing was a little slick and we didn’t want the layers to slide apart in the drive, and when we tried cutting into it we hit a straw so the knife was going through and my partner was like “just cut it already, you’re a strong woman” and it made me giggle.

I like the mismatched color idea but in complementing colors like in the photo. I think the patterns would be too much - especially with guests because they could also be wearing patterns and it might be difficult to keep the party separate from those people - if that makes sense. I feel like in my head you’re usually able to tell the wedding party apart from everyone else. But I’ve also never been a part of a large adult wedding - so don’t take my advice as solid word 😉

Hi all!

My partner and I were married in a super small ceremony yesterday. Attendants included our two witnesses, a dog, the photographer, and the officiant.

It was done in the backyard of my best friend’s mom in another province from where we live.

We had a month of planning, and everything turned out perfectly even though it seemed like a rough journey. It turns out I could not have planned a better day. The weather was amazing, the location ended up blowing our expectations out of the water - plus two of their neighbors also offered up their yards so we had an arbor and plenty of gardens to use for the photos.

Everything went so smoothly with the exception of one thing - but that was totally out of our control:

(It looks like I’m coming down with shingles so I was in quite a bit of pain)

We’ve been together six years and the only people we told about the ceremony aside from my best friend and company, was my mom because I needed her help in the planning and executing. I rented the dress from someone in the province sight unseen, did my own hair and makeup, my mom made the cake and I decorated it myself the day before the wedding.

We had a lovely dinner at a local restaurant and they were super sweet.

I wouldn’t have changed anything - and I’m so happy to be a married woman.

I’m not sure that’s quite the message but 🌟 for you anyway

Not the person you’re replying to, but I didn’t find it awful on mobile. The zoom by dragging worked well, as did the double tap to view the whole dataset.

For a quick browse I wasn’t frustrated at all and found the information I wanted to in a short amount of time!

Also here from day 1 Apollo, and have abandoned Reddit as well.

I like wefwef, but I found I had a lot of issues with it where things weren’t loading or processing as well as they do on other apps, so I have about 5 different ones that I’ve been rotating between - and my favorite has been Memmy so far.

I do see many benefits to wefwef, I think it’s super clean and I see the appeal, plus it’s definitely something I’ll keep checking back in on - but I’m happy to experiment with all of them right now.

So sorry to hear about your buddy. We were so lucky to have them in our lives while we did.

Lost our buddy Hades at 18 months old this past January after a quick battle with severe kidney stones.

Miss him every day a little more than the day before, especially today.

Sharing with you all how peaceful he looked in his last days.
