How extensive are the sanctions against Iran? They obviously still trade with Russia, do they trade with China too? Is it only the West that sanctions them?
Voidance
Sorry if this is an ignorant question but - what do those UN troops actually do? Like there are thousands of them on the Lebanese border right? This isn’t a criticism I just genuinely don’t understand, like what do they do all day, what’s their purpose there now?
Not that new but there’s a weird French sci fi starring Lea Seydoux called The Beast that was released last year which is pretty good. In an AI controlled future it’s discovered that karma/re-incarnation is basically real and you can experience your past lives and thus free yourself of present trauma, but the ‘operation’ results in people that are rebotic and emotionless themselves. It’s a kind of strange love story.
We would only use them for peaceful means like nuking hurricanes
“This is completely the opposite of what she is supposed to say”
Yeah that can happen sometimes on benzos
It's a long time since I read it, but I think the idea is to suggest dehumanization and artificiality in people who totally subsume themselves to political identity. Which I think is how Orwell basically saw supporters of Stalin, as mindless political fanatics
Id assumed they would strike on Oct 7th
It seems like Israel or it’s proxies might have tried to bomb a Russian weapons shipment in Syria. But geopolitically speaking, what would Russia have to gain from giving security guarantees to Iran that worth the risk to them of a world war?
Every time Israel commits another war crime Iran should drop a missile on Tel Aviv. Reports they have been using white phosphorus in Lebanon now
Yeah I’ve gotta come down off this news high, I feel like a child glued to images of the world trade centre collapsing
No doubt there must be several times more wounded than killed as well. Saw someone on Twitter reporting 60+ wounded but not sure of its accuracy
It is strange how the history of the US seems to be a history of its enemies underestimating its resolve and capacity for violence.
