The B2’s that bombed Yemen flew out of Australia. British warplanes are thought to be participating in the bombing of Lebanon. German ships are taking down drones. France is contributing to the Iron Dome. The US is tracking targets for assassination. It’s basically a fucking crusade at this point.

“How could Australia possibly justify such a deal to its public?”

Well they didn’t really even justify AUKUS to the public, just announced it one day with bipartisan support

Probably a cover story, that would have to be incredibly unlikely

Just spit balling here but, maybe they imagine it will damage social cohesion (like Russia supposedly sponsors right wing influencers in the West), or maybe it's a way to link up with gay Yemeni's who could be easier to blackmail for intelligence purposes

So pathetic. Just like in the UK the people voted for the 'Labour' party and only got more militarism and austerity. In Australia's case there is a cost of living crisis, a recent study showed that 98% of rental properties are beyond the means of essential workers like teachers and nurses, yet instead of building housing their spending hundreds of billions on US subs which have no purpose except to antagonise China, which is by far Australias largest trading partner.

I don't think that's true, although hypothetically even if it was, immorality is not a product of a lack of intelligence.

I think the loss of progressives is often underestimated by the media and neolib politicians. Yeah they may be a minority but they're also people who are interested in politics, who talk about politics to their friends and families and coworkers, who are often the nucleus of grass roots efforts etc. So they often have an outsized effect

Imagine joining up thinking you’d be calling in air strikes on Afghan villages, and then getting deployed as a target for Iranian missiles

They haven’t been able to take the border region of Lebanon and they’ve been trying for like two weeks now.
