Life is conflict. We need to be ready to fight for the rest of our lives. If not for us, for our kids....or rather after this.... Our grandkids. It's bullshit but if anything, I have more purpose now than I ever did. Fixing this shits gonna take decades

As an ex construction worker myself I'm gonna have to disagree with you on the "alienating" part. A massive portion of nonunion blue collar laborers are more interested in finding new people to hate or blame for their shitty lives (witch theyr proud of for some reason) rather than take responsibility for their actions.
I might also add that since these kind of laborers are basically all still stuck in highschool mentally (if even that Intelligent) they have tend to mob up and berate any non aggressive talking points into the dirt. The owners love this kinda shit, cuz it prevents unionizing anD usually back the worst of them.
The DNC isn't to blame for shit like that, these folks were raised to hate thinking and reading. The problem is cultural.

A parents obligation to their children is more nuanced than your implying, setting an example isn't the only factor. Not to mention abuse is used to break your will to stand up for yourself, and even if that weren't a factor, communication isn't possible with people unwilling to listen.
Relationships are a two way street, but when you've got kids., it's not just about the relationship with your partner anymore
I feel this man, I even play with a guy who rushes into the front whilst the teams defending a point and gets mad that he gets hit while in the line of fire. It irritates the crap oudda me.
But at the same time, getting constantly killed by folks who "never" check their fire can be a pain, but the simplest solution is, break off or change your play style when their around
