I think your level of happiness is completely reasonable in this case.

I'm looking forward to this change in direction. I also get deep satisfaction seeing Blaine lose in his own riding. It couldn't have been any clearer that NB is tired of his "my way or the highway", hateful, and divisive approach.

Yes! Bring it full circle. I love it.

That would fit the pattern (provided Harris wins) Obama/Biden -> Biden/Harris -> Harris/Walz -> Walz/??

I don't think it's fair to say both snakes in that bag are equally bad. Sure they might both kill you, but one of them will give you a horrific, painful death.

TIL you can vote any day (except sunday) at a returning office. No need to wait until Oct. 21 with everyone else.

People only caring if it personally affects them is a part of how it got this bad in the first place.

I'm glad they never made any more films after that

I guess you haven't watched Resurrections then.

I haven't been to McDonald's in a few years but I stopped into one for breakfast on a recent road trip and discovered that a single hash brown is now $2.50 plus tax!

Realistically, a hash brown probably should cost that much when you consider the number of people involved in creating, transporting, and serving it to you but I don't think we're seeing wages support that.

Reminds me of the initiation well in Portugal

Please tell your girlfriend thank you for being considerate of others.

100% on board. First stop is to local grocers, then Costco, and if those fail, then I'll resort to Sobeys.

Major projects include:

  • Killarney Lake Roundabout
  • Main St (Phase 1) from Hawkins to Seymour
  • Northumberland Street (Phase 1) from Queen to Brunswick
  • Officer's Square
  • Regent Street (Phase 3) from George to Churchill Row
  • Riverside Dr (Phase 2) from Sumac to Corbett
  • Woodstock Rd from Garden Creek to Stillwater

I'm just hearing about this now and I thought it would be worthwhile to share.

There is a Canada-wide boycott of Loblaws planned for May 2024 (and beyond if you're able). This includes any store under the Loblaws umbrella such as: Atlantic Superstore, Shopper's Drug Mart, Save Easy, Your Independent Grocer, No Frills, Esso, and so on.

The goal of the boycott is for Loblaws to reduce prices by 15% and remove "member only pricing" so everyone has access to savings and deals.

The boycott is organized by a group on Reddit. You can find more details about it in this Reddit Thred

A happy byproduct of this will hopefully be more business going to small locally owned stores in your area instead of the two grocery giants. I'm in the Fredericton area so I can recommend Victory Meat Market and Peter's Meats as excellent alternatives with better products, and similar or sometimes lower prices.

Here's hoping there's enough engagement to produce a significant drop in Loblaws sales and they take the voice of the customer seriously.

I think that might depend on who you're hiring though. That's the same line our boss told me when they pushed me back to the office. But in the time since then, we have hired several new staff who actually prefer to communicate digitally. They will email, teams, phone, or text me with questions before actually seeking me out in person.

Let's all pray that there are no accidents on the Westmoreland while they re-pave...

Tickets go on sale March 28 at 11:00 am.

Eclipsefest (www.frederictoncapitalregion.ca)

In case you've been under a rock lately, there will be a solar eclipse on the afternoon of April 8 and lucky us, the path of totality will pass over Fredericton.

This is shaping up to be a once-in-a-lifetime event. There will be activities around the city on the weekend leading up to the day, followed by several watch parties the day of.

Looks like we'll have a 50-50 chance of clear skies.

The first few acts have been announced for Harvest 2024. Not bad for a start, looking forward to who else they can book.
