As a convicted drug felon whose local DA went on to become a corrupt governor, I reel at the "felon" pejorative that libs now seem to relish in. You can have a discussion with them about the PIC, the doubling of the prison population over a 2 decade period, and all sort of other stuff and they will nod along and even agree and then turn around and still assume all felons are bad and we need to support our cops. It's the same shit with "terrorist" for those who lived through the Bush era and saw the term cynically deployed as cover for wars which saw a million people murdered and an entire region sent into disarray reflexively respond credulously whenever the term is used to justify a new genocidal campaign.

*Ha! I used the word "corrupt", another loaded term that is often weaponized in the same manner. Really said governor was just doing standard governor stuff that most all politicians do in bourgeois democracy.

This is my intuition, as well. If you look at the list of enemies the Archive has, it's media conglomerates, publishing houses, paywall lovers, people wanting to erase inconvenient historical documents, the government and intelligence agencies, etc. It is a completely incoherent take to imply that the the Archive is representative of the US govt or a project of theirs. At least from my vantage point where all I see is some of the worst actors constantly hand wringing about the site as if it is some malevolent ass pimple.

In case you were not aware. I have long had a sense that its days are numbered and, even with all of its deficiencies, it is too good for the internet as it exists today. Enjoy it while we have it.

I will come and visit in a couple short years. But remember how bad blockbuster video was as opposed to every other small and big video rental place, grocery stores included? Edited movies, nothing unrated or NC-17 (unless edited down to R). This was a hindrance to many small distributors. I remember at a music festival Troma had a stand and they would give you a free DVD if you cut up your Blockbuster card. Blockbuster refused to carry Troma movies, of course

Never seen Rob mentioned on this site but people mention lib streamers all the time. Rob is a comrade and has fostered a good community. Check out his stream if you have a chance.

Hug yourself and hug everyone around you

We drink like fish on 9/11, but our gold fish brains deny us the memory of why

I had a co-worker tell the boss "I don't work on 9/11, it's a holiday of remembrance for me" mentioning that he had family from new york. He was full of shit and just used it as a free day to drink.
