To coordinate. This is being organized by large labor unions not tumblr leftists. They are trying to align as many union contracts as possible to expire on March 31st 2028. This also gives people time to organize their workplaces if they aren't already unionized. People can also take time to prepare strike funds. It is hard to save in this economy but if you can save $50/month for the next 3 years you'll have something to coast on during the strike.

Absolutely.
I don't know enough about sewing or programmable vector designs (heck, I don't even know what it's call). So, I can't really contribute to the project. But I really want it to grow, so I promote it wherever I can.
I dream of it taking off like blender or Wikipedia and eventually having an archive of thousands of designs. Even, if most people wont sew their own it would help some people start small businesses creating quality clothing.
I will shit on his grave at some point in my life.
Maybe that'll be my retirement plan.

Not really. Things aren't going to get better by then, and the US government will absolutely keep killing people. But most of us alive now will still be slogging along in 4 years.
