Awesome, more offshore drilling. Can’t wait for a spill. They can barely maintain their own oil infrastructure.

Maduro already has said he wants oil exploration there. He’s not Chavez. What current plans does the US have to build bases in the region?

[-] CommieElon@hexbear.net 8 points 9 months ago

It’s not good and the US was just starting to relieve sanctions. Maduro just wants that oil in a biodiversity country. It sucks

The US literally just gave Venezuela sanctions relief…. why blow up any progress in less than a month? Maybe Guyana needs some freedom like Iraq did.

I can’t defend this whatsoever.

Isn’t a purge something tankies would do? Isn’t that something Stalin is kinda famous for?

Love the “relatively civilized, relatively European” remark by that one guy. If Russia wasn’t involved, they wouldn’t give a shit about Ukraine.

Probably not, but if you’re body feels like it’s on fire because you see them popping up just do it.

There are probably plenty of volunteer programs through parks or NGOs wherever you live which is the most effective thing you can do.

I would guess on a small scale, we’re making progress. It’s much easier to manage on a small scale or if there is no exotic seed bank. For example, I’ve seen former agricultural fields look great 3 years after restoration.

There just isn’t a unified response to it. There are so many different entities that own and manage land it, you get different results.

I wish I knew about control of invasives in other countries and how serious they’re taking it.

Environmental biology professors are almost always cool. They’re always weird and interesting.

We all know the white guys who call themselves history buffs but only have a limited knowledge of WWII which is based on history channel documentaries.

Sometimes I wish I was veteran so I can shit all over these people. I hope any Chapo vets can do the same for me.

As a Marxist, I look at Adam Smith as an economist who was examining the necessary advancement of political economy. The wealth of nations is a book that mostly observes the emergence of a new economic system. We all believe in historical materialism, Adam Smith fits right in for us because he advocated for a newer and more efficient economic system which was an improvement over the mercantilism of the day.

He also correctly identified the contradictions and drawbacks of Capitalism just as it was getting started. I never read his other book but it’s the opposite of “men only act in their self interest” or so I’ve heard.
