I just got a giant, house-encompassing circuit like that broken up in my house. It ran the entire length of the front of the house, one wall each from two bedrooms, the entire living room, and one wall of the garage. Like who on earth ever thought someone would want all of these things controlled with the same circuit breaker? Getting it split up was the best money spent.

Exactly what I was just about to say. This episode was a big deal when it happened because I had been watching Reading Rainbow for years and loved to see LeVar on TNG. That's a never forget crossover episode right there

Yeah, the problem is it slips too easily into essentialism. "Oh we evolved this way, nothing we can do about it I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯"

Especially for questions like this, which could pretty easily be explained by cultural influences, no need to bring evolution into it.

Yeah canon I believe is you can't get close enough to transport without violating the neutral zone. So it's a binary either or choice. You rescue and start a war or you watch those people die.

Spectacular. I'm actually over here indulging in a Spooky Season movie marathon. Today's selection, the classic Event Horizon.

Dude heard the phrase "goes in one ear and out the other" and took it literally.

Deep history shows us that underground creatures are the ones who survive extinction events. Underground is the safest place to be in a catastrophe, apparently.

All of these big, visible union actions across the country are giving great momentum to our union push at the little community hospital where I work. I'm so happy to see this trend
