There's always a catch, huh ...

Kuru brand shoes. I'm on my feet for 12 hours shifts and I actually have zero foot pain, they're amazing. Also I have extremely high arches, and the Kuru Quantums are the first shoes I've ever owned in my entire life that I don't have to add orthotic arch supports.

I buy a new pair twice a year.

I'll second this one, and I mostly only use mine for sleep. You can get some that you mold yourself, so there's less fear of losing them. I use Radians brand.

Avoiding 5am starvation yowls is exactly why I free feed, and I'm sure it's going to bite me in the ass when my two are older and stop maintaining their weight easily. But for now, they're active and healthy weight even with the free feeding. So we'll see

Why would you ever remove twat? Twat is a great word, which I can only hear in Con O'Neill's voice from Our Flag Means Death.

Problem is people don't have a lot of control over their subconscious perceptions. The subtle ways that they'll remember two things being side by side and associating the two. This is why brands are careful about what content their ads are shown on.

Hollow Knight: Silksong is gonna be perfect.

(Actually, knowing those devs, it might.)

Have a feeder out when they're young. I have one particular bluejay and one particular woodpecker that I can distinguish because they were born in the forest behind my yard and started eating at the feeder when they could barely fly and looked like super awkward tufts of fuzz. Whenever I refill the feeder these days, I notice those two show up first

If you worked in healthcare, there was a pretty clear delineation. We got vaccines and people stopped fucking dying so much.

I opened 2021 to one of our chronic dialysis patients getting admitted for Covid, so severely short of breath they needed to go to the critical care stepdown unit, and I thought "this is it " By the time I was able to arrive at the hospital to run their dialysis, this person was already off oxygen and up walking around their room.

Come to find out, they had been vaccinated. I'm told that was one of the first people in the State of Massachusetts who got Covid after being vaccinated, and the difference in severity was so dramatic I'll never forget it.

That and movie theaters reopening are the only reasons I remember 2021. It was just a lot less scary even though I was still working like crazy.

The 5th Amendment to the United States Constitution affirms citizens' right not to talk to investigating authorities. It's what they're referring to when you see cops in movies tell people "you have the right to remain silent"
