I love you all. I'm on the younger end of Lemmy users here and I have never faced anything that feels this life-changing. Maybe even the older users haven't, I'm not sure. Get out of this country if you can, and if you can't, organize organize ORGANIZE. We can only rely on eachother now. Work on yourself as well. We all need some intragroup love now.

I'll give you my dilemma: would you rather have constant noise that is not in your control? or would you rather have constant noise in the form of music that you enjoy? thats my case in school and the case of many others in cities, where its a choice between the sound of crowds (with occasional shocking loud noises) or music you can control. one is far less stressful at the end of the day

I think these short, punchy comments do serve a purpose and are worth having, little things like that add up for people questioning their own stance etc

the one point I agree on is that these comments aren't creative: they could certainly contribute more and could also be more hopeful rather than simply angry

and the mask is off, nail in the coffin that this was bad faith

I see the word comrade get passed around a lot on the internet, particularly lemmy, and I've never really known the lore behind it. The only association I have with the word is that it's a word I primarily see used by tankies (as in, authoritarian leftists who hate on authoritarianism in the west but not in the east). Does anyone know and can explain it in a relatively understandable way?

I'm fairly new to piracy overall, but I feel like I understand the basics of how to avoid my ISP and such. A family member who's in college texted me the other day asking how she could pirate textbooks and I realized I'd never thought about it. Any tips for pirating textbooks? Safe sites?
