His apartment isn’t too archaic lol, my first apartment like 3 years ago was actually pretty similar. The only difference was that I didn’t have a CRT tv lol.

Thank god. Further consolidation is bad, regardless of which evil company is doing it.

It's my first time, yeah. I'd never heard of the Fediverse at all until now.

You can sub to whatever communities you want though, regardless of instance. So it doesn’t actually matter which one you join.

I know lol it just seems really daunting. And idk if the userbase is even large enough to support what I'd personally want. It'd probably be just me.

But regardless, I'd love a community like the NatureIsLit subreddit, or even AIDKE (animals I didn't know existed).

I know you said you’re looking for something harder and more mature, but I cant help but recommend Pokémon Bushido, and Pokémon Xenoverse. Both excellent games imo.

I’m loving Beehaw! And it’s super cool that we can all interact across servers and communities.

I think this has a lot of potential, I mean I’m already using it a ton. The only thing missing imo is more niche communities, but those will come along as the user base grows.

Beehaw was super easy. It was literally just your typical sign up process for any website. For me the biggest hurdle initially was just understanding how all of this works, and how they all fit together.
