I've always loved Mace Windu telling someone "your chances come in two sizes: slim and fat" in an old Star Wars Novell called Shatterpoint.

My favorite system message is GRUB's "bailing out, you're on your own. Good luck"

Next week's article: "Tennessee Republican David Hooven's mistress has alleged..."

I think it sets a horrible precedent. We'll never be able to get people into politics if we start holding them accountable for their crimes!

I use "ass hat" and "clusterfuck" regularly.

It's because everything is American politics. There's only two kinds of people in this world: Americans, and Americans who don't yet know they're American. We're just giving the Americans who don't yet know their own little space so they don't annoy us

She really should be disbarred for that statement, since it shows that she is too separated from reality to effectively practice law

I remember reading a while ago that there are people who stand up before wiping, and people who wipe before they stand up, and neither camp can fathom how the other does it. This is giving me that same energy.

Any CEO who opens their mouth about morals should be dragged into the street and shot for criminal hypocrisy.

Because people in power need excuses to hit people they don't like without having to pay weregild for it. That's it, that's the entire purpose of laws. The whole "protecting society" theory is a convenient smokescreen that we've all bought into through generations upon generations of Stockholm syndrome and the fact that we all also want to hit people and be justified in doing so from time to time.

I have a lower-mid tier (Ryzen7 2700 or 2700x, I don't exactly remember right now, Nvidia GTX 1650, 16gigs of RAM,) and I can game just fine at 1080p. Granted I'm not exactly worried about 4K or 666 FPS or whatever the hardcore gamers are into these days, but most games work well with proton and steam. Some even run better through proton than they do in Windows natively.
