China supports and backs the MNDAA, which is nominally a terrorist organization but really (like Hamas, Hezbollah, and Ansarallah) probably does a better job of governance than the Myanmar government.

BYD makes better cars than Tesla.

The standard to beat isn't very high.

I, too, revel in Japan's tragedy. Japan turned down aid from both the PRC and ROC, only for American aid to arrive too late to matter. They brought a great deal of suffering upon themselves despite their neighbours being eager to help.

"enemies of democracy?"

The US constantly and persistently butts it's head into foreign elections with millions of dollars in funding in one hand and ~~CIA agents~~thousands of unmarked weapons useful in a coup in another, and you're crying about enemies of democracy?

The greatest enemies of democracy are the countries who lead the spread of democratic ideals today.

The problem is that the West has decided to associate democracy with liberal ideals... And then proceeds to support Israel, which democratically decided to not support those ideals.

Democracy and liberal ideals are not the same thing. One is not required for the other.

Meanwhile, the "green, climate-friendly" US is hitting record oil and record gas production. Pointing at this is deflecting from the real issues: while OPEC has cut production recently, the US is happily filling the void.

That's the problem: oil's strategic value makes it impossible for any one party to enforce lower production and higher prices. Any solution needs to consider all stakeholders and set aside moral grandstanding.
