that may not be a wasps nest they want to be poking.

Same. Lemmy is a more appealing name than however we're supposed to say kbin.

I've had the best day. Most I've accomplished in a while IRL. And of corse exploring around this place.

undefined> I predict that Reddit will survive this

Sure it will survive. And it's certainly not assured that this will be the crack that breaks the dam, but it is one of them. As you described above, Digg didn't fall all at once. Reddit may stay dominant until they disable Old, or until they disable mobile browsers, or this protest may end up doing it. We won't know until long after the fact.

Even as a reddit addict I didn't know anything about spez and all he past creepiness until the discussions about the mobile apps shutting down. It was the impetus to send me to the Fediverse. My reddit addiction is broken (yeah!) and I wasn't even a mobile app user.

undefined> tankies

oof. Is there reason why people choose to set up, or use a Lemmy community over kbin then?

[–] BeHereNow@beehaw.org 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

It is. And how did you type that in a millisecond?

undefined> i’d appreciate it if you went over there

Please don't. At least not until the 15th if you must. Personally I'll continue to avoid it.

What's the difference between kbin and Lemmy? I saw something about Lemmy having 'baggage' and kbin being a newer iteration?

undefined> calling it Lemmy is not the right move.

Spankin' new here, so what do I know, but while the semantics might not be completely accurate, that is not an uncommon occurrence. And Lemmy sounds personal, with a bit of a Motorhead edge to it.

Maybe we'll all be called Lemmies web slinging in the Fediverse one day.

The first post I viewed (I'm brand spanking new) had an awful troll comment. It was quickly removed, but it was mentioned they'd made comments on six different post before being banned. What protects the community from an instance that let's anyone join? Hope this was the correct place to post.
