You can't win the game You can just lose the least

The game?

Is this some early 2000s meme I'm too young to understand or am I not seeing something?

[–] Skullgrid@lemmy.world 45 points 3 months ago (2 children)

don't worry about it, some dead memes should stay dead

Apparently something like one in five people are aware of the game in some survey. Referenced in a podcast I can't remember well.

I lost the game.

The game is cool and all, but have you ever played "Not Jackie Chan?"

Try naming 10 things that aren't Jackie Chan. I bet you can't.

Easy.

A pineapple.

A baseball cap.

Jackie Cha...

SHIT. You sly devil, you got me.

This meme has got so much crust that I needed a chisel to chip it off.

[–] Krejall@ttrpg.network 7 points 3 months ago (1 children)

What game? They're not playing a game in the image?

[–] No_Money_Just_Change@feddit.org 7 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I feel like I won the game, as I knew what the game was, forgot it, saw this meme, still didn't remember, googled it and than was like: oh yeah I think I heard about this

[–] mino@lemmy.ml -4 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Cool story bro. Sadly, there are no win conditions.

[–] southsamurai@sh.itjust.works 5 points 3 months ago (1 children)

There's one for sure.

Not playing :)

[–] mino@lemmy.ml 0 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago) (1 children)

Rule 1. Everyone in the world is playing the game.

You could argue that it doesn't apply to you since you are deciding not to play the game as a free agent. However then you can also not win anymore because you are not playing the game.

[–] southsamurai@sh.itjust.works 2 points 3 months ago

No, not playing means not wasting time and energy on it. That is a full win.

Anyone trying to pretend that participation in a thought experiment isn't voluntary would be wise to choose very carefully who they pull that with irl.

Q.E.V

God damn it

[–] mino@lemmy.ml 5 points 3 months ago

Remember one must announce they have lost. I'll be lenient your downvotes will be considered announcements.
