Oh boy someone mentioned a general strike, time for the suspiciously ever-present comments immediately denouncing the concept as pointless, as if it wouldn't be fucking hilarious to make the porky-happys squirm for the sake of itself

when people trash it it's usually because of 1. a lack of union involvement and 2. a lack of strong and advance planning, both of which are not an issue here, and both of which have to led to the complete failure of all the random "general strikes" that are declared every couple months

imo any even modestly credible mention of a general strike should immediately be fanned like a flame, even if it's obvious it's not going to lead to any greater improvement for those performing the strike, it will make lines go down and pigs squirm even a little bit and that's good enough for me, spitting in the eye of the titans crushing us underfoot, and the more often it happens the better

Why is Teen Vogue the vanguard publication for the era? This is one of the more entertaining aspects of the timeline.

OTOH, the Socialist Worker could have done better if they had taken my advice to run a swimsuit issue...

run a swimsuit issue

Why would Socialist Worker want to emulate Sports Illustrated in an effort to replace Teen Vogue?

Hell yeah, it's a fucking Kim Kelly article ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Edit: never disappoints

With careful planning, we really can take this 2028 general strike from a pipe dream into an achievable, actionable, world-shaking reality. We just have to start now.
