There are 195 countries in the world and the US has sanctions banning product imports of some kind from six of them:

  • Iran
  • Russia
  • Cuba
  • North Korea
  • Syria
  • Ukraine

Kaspersky is Russian software, and Russia is at war with one of our allies. To pretend this is xenophobic "banning anything not American", instead of a strike against a specific enemy, is more than a little disingenuous.
