Imagine putting Alpha Male in your profile

Any man who must say 'I am king' is no true king at all

Oppenheimer, the bio pic about the scientist who rejected their own creation and associated happily with communists, and showed the actions of various people to specifically target someone for that? That non woke Oppenheimer?

Who is the potato in the grey jacket?

[–] xxxSexMan69xxx@lemmy.blahaj.zone 16 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Nick Adams, self-proclaimed "alpha male"

[–] ChrisLicht@lemm.ee 12 points 1 year ago

Dude has alpha’d his way through some cheeseburgers since taking his profile photo.

[–] Koppensneller@lemmy.world 15 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Why is he wearing a mini-dress that looks like a men's jacket?

[–] polle@feddit.de 5 points 1 year ago

He looks like scully in the 90ies

[–] EremesZorn@beehaw.org 14 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Explain to me how any of these dorks are "alpha males."

[–] KraeuterRoy@feddit.de 27 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

Well, in software terms, an alpha version is the barely existing framework on which one builds until it eventually becomes a finished program.

So, with that in mind, I'd call them very Alpha - barely removed from monkeys, hardly able to even walk upright shells of humans.

But, if they keep learning, maybe they'll become actual humans someday. Even though they don't exactly look like they'll make it there anytime soon.

I really like this comment. I have nothing else to add :) but congrats had a good laugh.

[–] johnnybravo@lemm.ee 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

An alpha male is an underdeveloped male who wears his dad's blazer.

[–] EremesZorn@beehaw.org 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Seriously, I've seen these guys even back when I was in college. Loud, obnoxious, opinionated, and with poor fashion sense.
I guess all the other guys in the photo are the betas? There can only be one alpha, or so our poorly-researched understanding of pack animals goes.

[–] johnnybravo@lemm.ee 1 points 1 year ago

Such guys are commonplace in every college. They act very silly, are ignorant and annoying creatures overall. The 'beta' guys are just paid by the 'alpha' guy to stand by him. He becomes a stranger to them the moment his dad stops giving him any money. Then the betas go in search of a new alpha whose dad lends him both pocket-money and an old blazer.

At this point, this is kbin’s signature β€œfeature”.

Headline: Thousands traumatized by fire on island.

[–] TheDankHold@kbin.social 8 points 1 year ago

Lmao me too I was so confused about what people were talking about

[–] ninjakitty7@kbin.social 2 points 1 year ago

I don’t understand what everyone else is talking about, this is just a horny gif post.

[–] atlasraven31@lemm.ee 9 points 1 year ago

The movie theater wins either way.

[–] Gruntyfish@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

It's pretty impressive how they've managed to go through the Ken Mojo Dojo Casa House arc without even seeing the movie.

[–] CADmonkey@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Oh, I didn't know I had to be AlPhA to not see the barbie movie, I was just sitting here not watching it because I'm not the intended audience.

My daughter and my wife did go to see it, my daughter liked it, wife was indifferent. And that's OK, not every movie needs to cater to every person.

[–] reverendsteveii@lemm.ee 11 points 1 year ago (1 children)

You might be more in the target than you imagine. I learned an awful lot about the douche I was in my 20s from this movie.

[–] CADmonkey@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I had to figure out what a douche I was on my own.

[–] reverendsteveii@lemm.ee 4 points 1 year ago

I thought I had done that as well. Turns out I'd missed a couple spots.

[–] ichmagrum@feddit.de 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I hear it's a pretty damn smart and funny movie. I'd watch it if I was into movies, even though I'm definitely not part of the stereotypical Barbie movie target audience, either.

[–] CADmonkey@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

I usually can't sit still long enough for a movie, either.

[–] shiveyarbles@beehaw.org 3 points 1 year ago

Where's the alpha?
