Is it possible to transfer favorite communities from an account on one server to another? Say for example I'd like to have an alt with the same favorites on another server for a backup. Is this possible with wefwef or other means?

Looking to get my main off lemmy.world to help load balance, but I don't want to refavorite everything; if I could somehow keep them in sync that would be ideal.

Good find!

I lazily tried asking Bing Chat to write a python script like this but nothing it wrote worked. It even made up fake APIs to do it. Kinda funny.

Does it also transfer blocked communities?

Sorry, can‘t say. I tried it with mine and it worked, but there weren‘t any blocked ones.

I know this isn’t what your asking for but I just did this manually. Took like 45 min or so. I took a screenshot of all the communities I’ve followed so far and searched them. Then I went through with the Apollo JSON feature and double checked that I didn’t miss anything. The time you spend finding a script is probably better spent just doing this tbh. I actually found even more communities that didn’t exist when I did this originally after my reddit migration
