Just a little 'Nam flashback. No big deal.

New life goal - Hug a bald eagle

[–] Railing5132@lemmy.world 20 points 6 months ago

Rock-a-bye eagle, on the great plains...

Whatcha got there?

A walkie-talkie.

[–] Restaldt@lemmy.world 7 points 6 months ago

Such a dumb name

They should be called hangy-hearers

[–] FiniteBanjo@lemmy.today 17 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Gloveless handling and no jacket, clearly Bald Eagles are much more docile than I imagined. They must not have evolved a response to being caught and help upside down.

[–] ralakus@lemmy.world 35 points 6 months ago (2 children)

Bird also could've been sedated while being transported

[–] FiniteBanjo@lemmy.today 10 points 6 months ago

Mad respect for the Bald Eagle Anesthesiologist.

[–] atocci@kbin.social 8 points 6 months ago

It sure looks sedated at least

[–] watersnipje@lemmy.blahaj.zone 16 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Happy to see they’re saving it! The bare-handed handling makes me nervous though…

I was worried about those massive talons and that strong beak, but yeah maybe

[–] jqubed@lemmy.world 14 points 6 months ago

Denver International Airport you say...? I think this eagle was onto something before they had to remove it. He got too close to the truth.

[–] mechoman444@lemmy.world 8 points 6 months ago

Eagle: yo. This is some serious bullshit.

[–] SirEDCaLot@lemmy.today 7 points 6 months ago

The eagle does not look entirely satisfied with its transportation arrangements...

[–] Damage@slrpnk.net 6 points 6 months ago

That beak can crack bones...

[–] El_guapazo@lemmy.world 4 points 6 months ago

That looks like an ill-eagle. Set him free in a sanctuary.

[–] therealjcdenton@lemmy.zip 3 points 6 months ago

What a cute family photo

[–] Liz@midwest.social 2 points 6 months ago (1 children)

How about next time we relocate the airport!

[–] spongebue@lemmy.world 4 points 6 months ago (1 children)

They already did that about 30 years ago...

[–] Liz@midwest.social -2 points 6 months ago

I was thinking of putting it in a landfill.
