We know the answer: only the destruction of the republiQan party will get us back to where we should be.
That’s also the problem.
The Republican party is exactly as bad as the Democratic party has allowed them to be. If put up against any honest to goodness party of the people, the modern Republican party would crumble to dust. Instead, we have Biden, Pelosi, Schumer and, for some gawd awful reason, Hillary.
This is a very important and encouraging study.
When something gains enough acceptance to become legal, there’s a positive feedback loop that increases public support for it. Marriage equality, LGBT rights, cannabis legalization, and abortion are all topics that, up until the last decade or two, still required a hard fight to make/keep legal. It’s the same as interracial marriage, or gender discrimination.
Once it starts to turn the other way, once it becomes something politicians can be demonized and taken as if they had a serious argument, public perception can shift in the other direction. i hope we don’t see that but I am afraid that we will.
