No, not convincing at all. That's why they go after children with this bs at the youngest age possible. It was fucking terrifying when I was around 11 or so and started accepting that I didn't believe anything they told me at church.

Yep. I tried harder and harder to convince myself I believed so that I wouldn't burn in hell for eternity if I died. I wonder why I have anxiety? I mean it's totally healthy to be a literal child and trying to gaslight yourself into believing in something that makes no sense so you won't be tortured for eternity, right?

Careful, non-believers. Don't want to be branded a hair-etic.

In the name of the father, the son and the wooly spirit.

Can’t be branded a hairetic if I just don’t believe…. That would be a balding lost-one.

For a moment, I thought this was a cryptid instance and briefly wondered what level of crazy believes that Bigfoot will put you in the ground if you don't believe in him.

[–] rubythulhu@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 1 year ago

it is, and she WILL put you in the ground.

[–] NovaPrime@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 year ago

Heretic. Nessie of the Loch Ness is the one true God.

I got a buddy whose wicked into Bigfoot, says things like Bigfoot is telepathic, and other shit I don't believe.

The greatest trick the Bigfoot ever pulled was convincing the world he doesn't exist.

[–] FormerlyChucks@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Where's Bigfoot's book

[–] Moshpirit@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Wait, but do we have a novel book that PROVES he's real and sent his son to die for humankind sins??? Do we??!!!

I don't believe in bigfoot, but if there was any cryptid that did exist, it's gotta be that one. It's the most boring, most mundane, most realistic cryptid. I mean... It's just an ape of some kind. An ape we haven't yet discovered, but nothing super fantastical either.

Hmm... 🤔

I wonder if some religious people use the same logic to choose which God they believe in. Cuz I mean, why would you not want to believe in Greek or Roman gods? They were cooler. Christian God, even if it exists, is kinda lame compared to other gods. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Im pretty sure Roko's Basilisk is the modern take on Damnation Jesus.
