What controller do you recommend for steam gaming? Is the ps5 controller good? I heard the Xbox controller had some latency issues. I've been using the ps4 controller and have noticed a slight amount of latency.

DualSense and DualShock 4 are both great in my experience. I've read that input lag can be problematic with certain bluetooth modules, but is fixable by using a different one. (My inexpensive USB bluetooth dongle works very well with both controllers.)

I have 8bitdo 2.4G wireless conroller and it is amazing. Works out of box on Linux.

DualSense works out of the box via USB-C or Bluetooth. Feels very responsive to me.

For wireless I used an Xbox One controller and the pc dongle with this driver: https://github.com/medusalix/xone

8bitdo ultimate (bluetooth with charging dock) is amazing, so that's what I would recommend.

I also like Xbox controllers but I've had a lot of issues with them breaking, so I don't recommend them.

I use a PS5 controller and it worked great right out of the box. It also has the added bonus that you can use the touchpad on it as a trackpad to control your mouse cursor.

I use a wired Xbox One S controller for most games, sometimes a wired Switch Pro controller for Nintendo games. Haven't noticed any latency with them, myself.

Yeah also got a wired Xbox One S controller and it works great

PS4 controller forever. It 'just works' and I'm used to it after the decades. Can't stand the PS5 controller. It feels too big like the first xbox controller.

I recently got the 8bitdos new 2.4ghz controller (the cheap one) and so far happy with it, just needed to make sure a had the correct drivers for it

I've been using 8bitdo SN 30 Pro+, it's pretty good with standard games and also it's gyro helps with Switch Emulation

8BitDo ultimate 2.4GHz is amazing. Uses a usb dongle for low latency, but the latest update also enabled a bluetooth mode. It also has a charging dock and the best dpad I've used.

Yeah I was a staunch user of the Dual Sense but once I got the charging dock and low latency with the 8bitdo I haven't looked back. Also back buttons are handy

Oh yeah I forgot it had back buttons, they're always useful for games that aren't optimized for controllers. Especially with steam input, since you can make radial menus to do a lot of things.

I alternate between a PS4 controller and Switch Pro controller. Overall I think the PS4 controller is more comfortable and the touchpad on it is really convenient for using as a mouse.

I use an 8bitdo Pro 2 in wired mode and it works great.

The 8bitdo Ultimate Bluetooth is awesome! Bought it when it launched, and so far, haven't regret it.
