cats using a cat tree? I thought it was only a myth.

[–] Hellstormy@lemmy.world 13 points 6 months ago

Mine do it too!

the position of the tree might hace a lot to do with it. we have one next to a window and thety always sleep on it after watching trough the window a whilem other oke is behind my computer so if they want to be close to me while I'm working they usually use that tree then

edit: god damn I made a lot of typos

[–] meekah@lemmy.world 8 points 6 months ago

Yup this is essential, the tree must be in a spot where they like to be anyways

Is that a lack of beds (doubt) or are they all hanging?

[–] PoopSpiderman@lemmy.world 34 points 6 months ago (2 children)

They’re all over each other all the time. They do have plenty of space in the house, and they even allow me a small place to sleep if they aren’t using it. They are nothing if not benevolent.

Sounds like you have a good clowder, I'm happy that mine put up with each other

[–] PoopSpiderman@lemmy.world 3 points 6 months ago (1 children)

I have a really great clowder, I just wish a group of cats had a cooler name.

[–] Daveyborn@lemmy.world 3 points 6 months ago

It's an odd one

Looks like you've got yourself a Full House!

[–] Nog00d@lemmy.world 5 points 6 months ago

You got straight to the point. I'm flush with excitement.

They’re in training for extreme coziness.

[–] meekah@lemmy.world 5 points 6 months ago

When's redbull gonna sponsor them?

My tower, one of each

I recently added a demonic void who was a stray his first 6-7 months ...I need help. He's insane, doesn't want to be touched but wants to be right next to me...plus he was raised by trash pandas....he literally worked the cabinet over the microwave open to steal his bag of kitty chow, that he won't eat for meals ....

[–] Maalus@lemmy.world 4 points 6 months ago (1 children)

I have the opposite of a void (full white cat) who lived on the street till he was two. Not feral, since he was fed by someone, but by no means a tamed cat. I adopted him and haven't seen the cat for three months he was hiding so much. Pheromones, visits to the vet to check if there's something wrong (we had to take him out from under the couch with a training sword), nothing helped. He was also a trash panda, getting into everything and everywhere. Not able to be touched, running after any sound a slipper made.

What helped was a video with sound of a female kitty popping in and out of her carrier and meowing at the owner. I was absent mindedly watching cat videos and suddenly out the corner of my eye I see my cat for the very first time in months, outside the sofa. He got tame after 4 months or so after that, and progressively an outrageous cuddler. Sits on the lap, loves belly pets, etc. Just needed time to calm down. Still a great hunter though, you can't run away with the mouse on a string / rod, he'll always get you, always full-sending it, walls be damned. Had to shave out his paw pads with an ear trimmer, cause he slid so much I was scared he'll hurt himself.

this is my trash gobblin not trying to avoid me....I think he is waiting to eat me. He's been to the vet and fully vaccinated fixed...but he loco

[–] Maalus@lemmy.world 3 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Hey, mine did that too. Then he moved closer over the months and ended up basically next to my face. Then he looked back and expected pets. It was hilarious since he still was lying with his back turned.

Did you get him dewormed too? It's basically a pill and it helped my guy a little bit

[–] teamevil@lemmy.world 4 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago)

Yeah he got all the things....my other cat who's running on retriever software is not down for wormies...

The tower of power :)
