Chanting, "Death To America" while you're holding your Starbucks you got on 24th and Lander, in your Levi's and your Nikes, before you head to Applebees for a beer and some riblets, is the stupidest bullshit I've ever heard.

You like this lifestyle? It doesn't exist in 90% of the world. Maybe pump the brakes on hating the nation you live in that affords you perhaps the highest quality of life for the general population in the entire world?

improve-society but also rebbitor seems to think it's 1924 and the US is more advanced and has higher living standards than the rest of the world? like people don't wear jeans and sneakers in 90% of the world? like there aren't hundreds of millions that have better lives then the average USian, like the USians also haven't forcibly exported their garbage "culture" to 199 countries in the world and there are sniff shtarbuchs koffie and macdongle's in every shopping mall in asia and europe?

I love that all the things he named are just consumerist garbage. No mention of Healthcare, time off, affordable housing, a social safety net, none of it. Nothing that actually matters. And I have to wonder why he didn't πŸ€”

Also this lifestyle makes me want to die.

[–] assyrian@hexbear.net 61 points 7 months ago (1 children)

it's really a perfect summation of American culture. there's no actual culture to be proud of - the American lifestyle is just a bunch of shitty brands (that exist everywhere) and food that kills you.

[–] riseuppikmin@hexbear.net 48 points 7 months ago

The softest ban I ever got on reddit-logo was in some post about how "it's not okay to say america doesn't have culture" where I said I agree and that its culture is vapid consumerism

i am big stupid american i like mcdonald burger and large coca cola

[–] GalaxyBrain@hexbear.net 11 points 7 months ago

America is best because of things for sale there. Exclusive and amazing things like....coffee, pants, shoes, beer and meat. The only thing 'american' about it is the specific brands he brings up. So what if my coffee isn't Starbucks, my shoes aren't Levi's and my pants aren't Nikes and why the fuck would I want my ribs from Applebee's if I ate meat in the first place? The fuck kind of own do they think this is? You can get stuff that's widely available most places but you won't be able to look at the same logo?

"You're lucky you live here pal, it has brands I've identified with because that's literally all America has"

[–] Guamer@hexbear.net 57 points 7 months ago (1 children)

That first guy is projecting so hard, bet that's his personal Applebees order when he eats there every week. It's weirdly specific.

The sound a Meat Frog makes

[–] StalinStan@hexbear.net 28 points 7 months ago (1 children)

It is one of those cheap off cuts of meat they try to rebrand into something fancy and sell for a high price. They are good bits but the marking push is annoying

[–] DyingOfDeBordom@hexbear.net 19 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Oh so like when i take all the little bits that come off the chicken thighs and turn them into popcorn chicken

[–] StalinStan@hexbear.net 15 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago)

Yeah, only it's based when you do it. It is crige when a corporation does it.

[–] LaughingLion@hexbear.net 50 points 7 months ago

fucking hate this lifestyle and im not alone

western people be like "we are the best and everyone loves it here" meanwhile in the west suicide is an epidemic

Well, they did cheer when McDonald's pulled out of Russia as if that were some keen death blow

[–] ta00000@hexbear.net 31 points 7 months ago

Bread and circuses, when they forget the bread.

[–] riseuppikmin@hexbear.net 26 points 7 months ago

There's a small chance that post might be parody because I can't genuinely believe that even the worst of the burgoid empire would be willing to defend riblets

[–] aaaaaaadjsf@hexbear.net 25 points 7 months ago

You like this lifestyle? It doesn't exist in 90% of the world.

And why is that?

I realize, objectively, that putting all the most annoying internet commenters up against the wall first would be horribly inefficient, but I really don't know what else we could do.

[–] BelieveRevolt@hexbear.net 8 points 7 months ago

It's so funny that the average American doesn't even consider that there might be people who don't like the ”lifestyle” of garbage fast food treats.

Oh my god, these people. I can't stand it. They're calling the demonstrators "conservative Muslims." There's a claim in there that these chants are a response to American laws against racism, and implications that American Muslims want to kill all Jews.

This is outright Nazi ideology and I hate all of these people. They can't for a single second think about why Muslims in Michigan might dislike Joe Biden. Their minds can only imagine they hate Biden because they want to be Republicans. It's good team bad team stuff again.

I shouldn't even be surprised. I remember when liberals not even 20 years ago were always defending their American patriot credentials based on how many Muslims they wanted to kill.

Also, death to America

[–] LaughingLion@hexbear.net 37 points 7 months ago (1 children)

nazi ideology? i think you mean maintstream liberal thought

[–] VILenin@hexbear.net 31 points 7 months ago

Liberals found a progressive way to screech about how crackers are under attack by the brown hordes.

All this pearl-clutching about β€œantisemitism on the rise” is just woke white supremacy.

The amount of 9/11 style rhetoric coming from libs is... Well not that surprising actually. I thought more people thought like me when it came to that stuff. I'm not special. I'm not more educated than a lot of people. I consume the same media as everyone else...

How are people so bloodthirsty

[–] GenderIsOpSec@hexbear.net 47 points 7 months ago (2 children)

Nice try, buddy. You wont fool me to check a reddit-logo thread this easily!

I think your link is a unique "share" link used for tracking who clicks on it

https://www.reddit.com/r/privacy/comments/18u7q0v/reddit_now_tracks_whose_links_you_click_and_this/

Don't use the share function/button of websites, just take the link you want to share from your browser's URL field directly like this:

https://www.reddit.com/r/politics/comments/1c3rgkj/white_house_condemns_death_to_america_chants_at/

(you can also leave the part at the end (after the last slash) out if you want, I think it's called a "slug": https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clean_URL#Slug)

My father actually works in a secretive US Government position, in a "very actually hush hush" type of job.

Meanwhile, me = lets-fucking-go 9/11 floppy-parrot DEATH TO AMERIKKKA INFINITE 9/11S ON THE CRACKER WORLD PIGPOOPBALLS amerikkka qin-shi-huangdi-fireball

[–] roux@hexbear.net 22 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago)

My mother-in-law worked in a similar position. It's fucking hilarious because if I'm around at a family thing at all and politics gets brought up, she's all like "we don't talk about that stuff, hush!" Because she knows I'll say something. The family knows I'm "left-leaning" but most don't know just how far to the left.

But meanwhile, if she's around just her daughter, my actually gay wife(MiL doesn't know she's bi) my MiL will just be like "I think the gays shouldn't exist and trans people should get it worse."

[–] Yor@hexbear.net 23 points 7 months ago

Death to amerikkka amerikkka of course

[–] quarrk@hexbear.net 23 points 7 months ago
