They weren't supposed to do anything for wait times, they were supposed to break the public system while making rich people even richer.

In that way, they're a success.

What we really need is for most Canadians to get that privatization and free market solve a lot fewer problems efficiently than advertised. This delusion is causing us so much real, material loss and I can't see how we can stop it without people coming out of it. Of course it's a profitable delusion so wealthy interests will keep promoting this narrative so I have no confidence at all that this will change for the better.

I actually thought they'd do an obligatory year or few months or whatever of pretending they can do better first so they can do the classic enshittification process later. I guess they've got the public trained so well they don't even feel that's necessary, yikes.
