The definition of the word spam (as in too many messages, e.g. email spam) comes from a Monty Python sketch that was repeated as a meme ad-absurdum on newsgroups, turning it into spam. Which I learned here.

You’ll find the ‘nerd’ world littered with Monty python sketches. Such as learning …well…python…. The name and some of the examples of how to write python takes directly from the show. it starts with the dead parrot sketch.
