Isn't Batman the genius detective member of the League? Feel like he should be asking the questions. Unless he has figured it out already and just humoring the rest of them.

[–] geoff@lemm.ee 82 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Plot twist: he’ll figure it out by getting the kids to talk without them even realizing they’re being interrogated.

[–] ajmaxwell@lemmy.world 33 points 8 months ago

Some crucial bit of information will be needed and only Batman will have it because of something little Timmy said

Your point has merit but he’s also an orphan who in his personal life sponsors an orphanage and programs to help orphans make their way through life successfully.

He’s got a soft-spot for kids

[–] FilterItOut@thelemmy.club 44 points 8 months ago (2 children)

And takes in kids who are orphans or have issues and gets them to focus on positive things in life, like discipline, goal setting, and putting yourself in perilous situations while in armored spandex.

[–] Habahnow@sh.itjust.works 3 points 8 months ago

Haha this comment gets really weird without context lol.

[–] JJROKCZ@lemmy.world 3 points 8 months ago

Hey now, nightwing was probably pre-disposed to bring violent, Batman just focused it in a “good” direction

[–] THE_ANTIHERO@lemmy.today 7 points 8 months ago (1 children)

I think diana is there and she has the lasso of truth so no bruce doing it will be a downgrade . Unless the plot threw away the lasso for conveniance.

[–] FilterItOut@thelemmy.club 12 points 8 months ago (1 children)

You don't need a lasso of truth when you're talking to crime victims and helpful witnesses, usually...

[–] THE_ANTIHERO@lemmy.today 3 points 8 months ago

Yeah i did'nt know the context and just responded to the comment.

The league are almost all quite competent as well. If Bruce needs to put some pieces together then he probably trusts most members of the league to at least get the information they need. It's moments like these that I love about DC heroes. When they show the importance of the people and not just beating up bad guys.

[–] bus_factor@lemmy.world 5 points 8 months ago (1 children)

He's also right next to them. He can probably hear all of it, and would be able to ask additional questions later if needed. Pretty sure he can multitask enough to hand over a puzzle piece while eavesdropping on a conversation.

[–] discostjohn@programming.dev 4 points 8 months ago

Yeah exactly. Everyone's acting like he can't hear a conversation taking place right next to him.

[–] MagnyusG@lemmy.world 2 points 8 months ago

Batman probably can learn all he needs to about the parents by talking to their children. Anything else about them he probably doesn't need to be in their presence to learn about. His status as an orphan also probably makes it a lot easier to relate to the kids rather than the parents.

Always looking for another Robin.

[–] ShadowAndFlame@mander.xyz 40 points 8 months ago (1 children)

I think this one will fit in the square hole!

[–] threelonmusketeers@sh.itjust.works 25 points 8 months ago (1 children)

"That's right! It goes in the square hole."

"And this circle?"

"That's right! It goes in the square hole!"

[–] dohpaz42@lemmy.world 23 points 8 months ago (3 children)

You can tell a lot about a person by how they treat animals and children.

[–] nieceandtows@programming.dev 23 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Okay, but what if they're neither pediatricians nor veterinarians?

[–] sukhmel@programming.dev 20 points 8 months ago

Then you can not

[–] gamermanh@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 8 months ago

Absolutely

I don't like kids. They're messy, annoying, loud, etc. more often than not and as they're not mine, ew. Add to that one time when I had a lady loudly claim I was trying to hurt her kid when said kid walked up to me thinking I was my father (a school employee) and I really dislike (literally palms a little sweaty, waiting for someone to say I'm doing something) being near kids if my wife isn't around.

However, if a kid comes up to me and is all "hey someone's on the phone for you" and hands me a toy phone, I'm gonna answer it and be good to the kid. Friend of mine and I used to put on little concerts for the preschoolers while we waited for the school bus, too.

If someone who actively tries to not be around children can manage to be a decent person towards one for a little while then people who can't have no excuse.

It is a good indicator of a person's personality if they're vegan or not, agree

[–] Klear@lemmy.world 3 points 8 months ago

To stick it to Rob Liefeld.

[–] spez@sh.itjust.works 5 points 8 months ago (3 children)

How the fuck are the children not shitting their pants?

[–] PyroNeurosis@lemmy.blahaj.zone 21 points 8 months ago

Presumably toilet training.

[–] gmtom@lemmy.world 17 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago) (1 children)
[–] KreekyBonez@lemmy.world 1 points 8 months ago

gets me through the day

[–] ArbitraryValue@sh.itjust.works 6 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago) (1 children)

Why would they be? Batman is a famous good guy even within the context of the comic.

(The parents might be worried because having the Justice League show up means that they're involved in something dangerous, but kids don't think like that.)

[–] Blue_Morpho@lemmy.world 6 points 8 months ago

Look at Batman's face in that panel! He is very angry. His mouth is down turned. His eyebrows are furrowed. His eyes are dead. I get the impression if that piece doesn't fit, he's going to beat some justice into those children.

[–] ExtraMedicated@lemmy.world 5 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Why does he look so pissed though?

[–] The_Picard_Maneuver@lemmy.world 10 points 8 months ago

That's his happy face

[–] LesserAbe@lemmy.world 0 points 8 months ago

This fictional character doing something has restored my faith in humanity
