AI can already do phone calls and surely it will be better for the customer and the customer service staff if AI handles it? AI can handle the many outsourced jobs with their constantly changing information in real time without error, and the customer gets his or her answers instantaneously and will, strangely enough, behave better and more to the point when aware that they are dealing with a bot.

Customer service as a job doesn't honestly offer much besides initial work experience to people. In more advanced countries such as the Nordic countries the interactions are pretty pleasant compared to what I've heard of, say, rural southern states of U.S., but besides that dipping of toes into the water there's not really much to be gained there.

Customer service also accounts for 80% of expenditure of many a business.
