...specifically to install spares I already have. Level with me, y'all. Do I have a problem?

Yes, why wouldn't you just get a barebones instead?

I wasn't quite into the Keychron or other fully customizable pricec range. I was looking at the various Tester68's on Amazon, but ran across an LTC Neon for only about 7 bucks more, which despite uneven reviews in stock form, had a few more keys, similar 5-pin hotswap, and was rechargeable 2.4/BT/USB. Figured that versus AAA and wireless only, it was a better deal. I have some Box whites and an Aliexpress XDA set that are currently boardless, so what're you gonna do?

Anyway, I do appreciate the the proposed alternative was not to simply stop acquiring keyboards, LOL.

What, no, you do what you gotta do if you want to tinker with a new board. :P Tester68s are stupid priced on Amazon, sadly, so maybe what you did wasn't so bad. They should be like US$20 tops.

I mean I wouldn't bc I hate being wasteful, but chances are those switches and keycaps were cheap as hell so not necessarily a bad financial deicion, like you said it was cheaper than keychron without swiches and caps.

Plus you can always use the switches for a side project like a macropad or something.

Not at all! I've done the me thing a couple times. Especially if the board I want doesn't come in a barebones option. Now I have switches and caps to sell/share later.

Lol, not sure my wife agrees. Anyway, it was a success… barely.
