I just saw that for Spring they're doing a new Spice and Wolf, but it looks like they're not continuing the story but re-making what already had a pretty good IMO anime with 2 seasons. IIRC That anime was also pretty close to the source material, so I can't really see what us watchers will get from a remake other than I guess maybe more modern animation? Which is also kind of a waste cause there's a lot more light novels to adapt IMO.

Think they just want to gain a bigger and newer audience since its been a while after it last aired. Which is odd since a similar situation happened with devil was a part timer and iirc that ended up being a success. I was extremely disappointed too though.

A friend of mine who read the LN told me that some differences from the LN in the first anime made it quite complicated to continue the story from there.

And funny enough I think the art in the visuals and teasers are a step down. They made Holo look like a kid.

Well are they redoing the original anime with potential to continue past or is it just a redo

I mean, I suppose there's always potential. It's just that there were 2 seasons already, so not only does season 1 have to do good enough to warrant a sequel, we need season 2 to also do well enough, and then we get something "new".

Not necessarily, they could take the Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood approach and speedrun the material that was already covered by the original.

That said, if they did that, it'd probably not be as good as the original because the original's pacing was almost peak chill anime.

Full metal alchemist was spedrun on brotherhood but really only the beginning. So i dont see it approached in the same manner, also because the world of both (fma and and wolf)are much too different. Maybe they will do it like fruits basket. Hopefully bring in the og cast(i havent read up on it to see this being true or not) and continue it like that. However the approach, its got enough attention to get the previous fans talking about it and new people interested in it. So whatever is being done, its at least working to some degree. Plus to the new crowds, its different in a sense to what has been told recently.
