I got a Leaf and I'm surprised how well it handles, that low center of gravity with the battery pack really helps it feel planted through the corners.
definitely an advantage here with the low center of gravity
That's my favorite thing about my EV. It just goes! Highway merging is so much nicer!
this, for sure :D
I feel like I’m living in the future with my EV
Yes! Absolutely! Pair that with paying for shit with my phone and I feel like I'm in Star Trek, except without the uniforms and cool shit.
That's awesome news! Just goes to show that you don't need to be loyal to the fuel, you can have a kickass car that runs on anything
Eventually I'll get myself a project car which will be petrol, but for a car to get from point A to point B, I don't think I'll ever get another ICE powered car.
I think it makes complete sense. We're a 2 car household. We're getting an electric for 95% of our trips, commuting, going to town, whatever. It's just so stupid to be stopped on the highway during rushout literally burning money. Then we'll have an ICE car just for farther destinations, or when we don't know if we'll be able to charge, but honestly expecting that to be <5% of trips
Jumping on to this. We've gotten into ebikes and they are borderline life changing
I would recommend giving them a try to almost everyone and they can be a really good alternative to driving your gas guzzling car without needing to drop on an electric one
I have my eye on those, but I wonder how practical they would be in New England outside of "habitable season".
A lot of that comes down to some combination of your personal tolerance level and quality of the local infrastructure though.
I will say that if they can bike year round in Finland there's plenty of hope New England!
By the way, are there any good ev communities here yet? I haven't had much luck finding one
What car did you get? My partner just replaced her beater with a used Prius, and I think I'm falling in love all over again.
I got a Nissan Leaf. I wanted a full EV over a hybrid to save on maintenance costs.
