The bible allows slavery too, but try to use that argument in court!

I hear what you're saying but I'd rather not risk that possibility in today's political climate.

I'd rather not have caning or slavery

[–] LEDZeppelin@lemmy.world 19 points 8 months ago

No don’t. Seeing how courts are using Bible as an excuse to bring on full blown christo-fascism, those judges might not think twice before legalizing slavery.

[–] Spuddlesv2@lemmy.ca 9 points 8 months ago (1 children)

This is one of those times I truly wish we could do to her what she did to her child....over and over and over again.

[–] dutchkimble@lemy.lol 1 points 8 months ago

Oh but don't worry it's totally alright, she will get the same treatment or worse after she dies for eternity in hell /s

Pretty sure the bible actively encourages childmurder.

[–] clockwork_octopus@lemmy.world 3 points 8 months ago

Oh it absolutely does! Gleefully!

For a second I read "canning" and I had a different image of what she did to the child....

[–] blahsay@lemmy.world 2 points 8 months ago

I mean....she's not wrong.

Luckily we don't live by those rules any more mostly.
