Are they displaying it on an open bible? That answers so many questions I have had about how these people could be so out of touch with reality.

Yes! But apparently they never read Romans 13

Let every soul be submissive to superior authorities; for there is no authority except by God, and those that there are are given their positions by God, so that he who sets himself against authority is opposing God’s institution; and those who oppose it will have judgment passed on them.

And

For this is why you pay taxes too; for they are servitors of God’s steadily at work for that very purpose. Pay everybody what is due him: for whom it is the tax, the tax; for whom the tariff, the tariff; for whom fear, fear; for whom honor, honor

But that would require, i don't know, reading, and not being a hypocrite. There's quite a bit in the latter portions of the Bible that basically boil down to "don't make waves, be chill, work within the current status quo, even if you're dying because of it". But the God and Guns crowd doesn't like that bit

What happened to Caesar?

That is probably the go to when they get pulled over, out comes the Bible quotes on why God said it's OK.

Sure bud, as long as you keep it off public roads and never leave yours

They always send 1099A stuff to other people instead of payment. Has anyone of them ever tried the secret trick of turning a 1099A into real money themselves? Wouldn't that be instant riches?

[–] RootBeerGuy@discuss.tchncs.de 25 points 8 months ago (1 children)

No, you see, obviously that is not how it works. You first need to read 5 or so books by some grifters on how to do this properly, then we can start talking. Oh, and you need form 513a.

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 17 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Let me guess: You cannot pay for those books with 1099A forms? ;-)

[–] RootBeerGuy@discuss.tchncs.de 4 points 8 months ago

Huh, how did you know that? Guess you may not need all those books after all.

Wouldn't it be a "driving licence" or a "driver's licence", maybe "driver licence" is used in some places but it just sounds wrong (even my phones spell check keeps trying to correct it). Also why does the top line have a full stop but not the bottom?

It's almost like this was constructed by a scammer and bought by an idiot.

My American state uses that monstrosity of a construction which catches in my throat every time I pull it out. The one part of their scheme that’s less fucked up is also fucked up.
