I'd love to open links in browser, too!
Jerboa
Jerboa is a native-android client for Lemmy, built using the native android framework, Jetpack Compose.
Warning: You can submit issues, but between Lemmy and lemmy-ui, I probably won't have too much time to work on them. Learn jetpack compose like I did if you want to help make this app better.

Isn't it the 'custom tab' setting in the look and feel section?
Jerboa has an in app browser? All my links open in my default browser...
There is an option to allow Jerboa to open links, however this is limited to instances the app knows about. In any case, these don't work.
Is this maybe something that's different across different versions of Android? Android 13 is a bit of a pain, you don't get a pop up window asking what you want to open something in, it only goes to the default app.
I strongly dislike in-app browsers. I've found the "open in browser" button, but I would much prefer a setting toggle to bypass the in-app entirely
I have an option in the hamburger menu to open with my regular browser
It uses your default browser's custom tabs version. Some browsers might need to activate that in their own settings
