I can't even understand what he's trying to say. "You claim the system is broken, but it made you mad, so I guess it's working 😎"

[–] BurgerPunk@hexbear.net 37 points 8 months ago (1 children)

I have no clue either! If anyone can interpret something from that, I'd love to know

[–] tactical_trans_karen@hexbear.net 34 points 8 months ago

I speak fluent Chud (yokel, corpo/wall St, hog, and grill dad dialects) and Lib (east and west smug, lanyard, and Reddit dialects) and this is what I've got: "Ur big stinky do do butt"

[–] SacredExcrement@hexbear.net 50 points 8 months ago

Reddthat

Borderline incoherent, but insistent on seeming as 'sophisticated' as possible

Smug about making people angry online

I really do detest reddit brain

a-little-trolling We have the best mods folks, many people are saying

I had really lost my patience with that one fidel-salute

[–] Elon_Musk@hexbear.net 26 points 8 months ago

Arguing with those people is harder than arguing with a brick

[–] BurgerPunk@hexbear.net 26 points 8 months ago

And worse. I can at least imagine the brick is saying something interesting

[–] axont@hexbear.net 13 points 8 months ago

The echo chamber thing really says it all. They think we've never heard of liberalism before or what it proposes? This reminds me of those Evangelical movies where an atheist becomes a devout Christian because they learn about Christmas for the first time at age 23.

If Obama wouldn't reform the system after 2008 with such overwhelming support, I'm not sure I even want to know what crisis could lead to the kind of reforms that are needed.

[–] BurgerPunk@hexbear.net 41 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Exactly. Libs fantasies are even more ridiculous when youbthinknabout that fact. In 08, the public finally decided that the Iraq war was bad, the financial crisis hit and people did turn out to vote for the perfect avatar of libs theory of change.

Dems had total control of the government for two years - popular president, senate super majority, freindly 5-4 Supreme Court. There was literally nothing in the way of change the way they believe it happens. And what they got was worse than nothing, and capital got everything. Even the ACA was a huge win for capital.

[–] Collatz_problem@hexbear.net 9 points 8 months ago

Last time it required direct threat of a revolution with potential support from the Soviet Union.

Americans are truly proud over the dumbest, useless shit

[–] tombruzzo@hexbear.net 24 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Joke's on him, I killed my Amygdala with the threaded cane on the first go

[–] Evilphd666@hexbear.net 23 points 8 months ago (1 children)

maybe-later-honey Let's vote for the same thing over and over and expect anything to change!

[–] iByteABit@hexbear.net 20 points 8 months ago

Corruption is the problem

And what breeds that corruption? No, it's not Human Nature™, it's capitalism that's holding on with everything it's got not to become a part of history

[–] axont@hexbear.net 17 points 8 months ago

What do you propose as a solution?

back-to-me Yes. What is to be done?

Liberals always ask this from us and we already have an answer

[–] Anne_Teefa@hexbear.net 17 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago) (1 children)

Ah yes, you the soy boy tankie coming into the marketplace of ideas with a swollen amygdala, signifying the use of too much emotion and empathy when debating me, the debate-lord, about the efficacy of voting, that of which has given us a choice between two rapists and genociders. I for one think that we should continue to ritualistically vote and do nothing else and that logic and reason will show why blue dinosaur will become more progressive minutes before death, freeing all the captives at the border in the concentration camps that the most progressive president since fdr had a hand in creating, with blue dinosaur in attendance as VP. He'll go against all political agendas the u.s. had propped up over generations and stop the genocide in Gaza if you just vote hard enough. Now to entertain my hysterical commie bastard opponents argument: communism = no food, vuvuzuela, appeal to emotion fallacy. As you can see I've completely owned my opponent and he's now shrinking and turning into a burger (yim yum!). Now I'll continue to cuck myself and the rest of the populace by jumping into the meat grinder that is the u.s. hegemony when asked because a better world isn't possible, how could it? Liberalism won and because of that I get to hear all the wonderful things it's done from k-12 and beyond, if only I could afford a higher education, and live in a world where my cognitive biases are always good, correct, and reaffirmed. Good thing I can't afford healthcare and see that my amygdala had shrunken and rotted away or else I might actually feel upset about the way the u.s. has conducted itself since it's inception, and might call for more radical ways to fix a broken system that have always favored those in power, and might notice that our democracy is a complete farce. Hope you hexchanners grow up so you can have a real discussion with the adults in the room after 4 more years of trump because you decided not to vote

smuglord

Pretty much, had a better bit ready at first but switching between webpages deleted it. Was definitely the feeling I had waking up and immediately seeing b.s. though, as I normally do as a self identified feral bisexual seeing disingenuous virtue signaling. (omnisexual? Idk I saw discourse about the nitty gritty of it and idc, the intolerance and erasure of my sexuality has kinda helped solidify certain aspects of my aggression especially when it comes to the libs of our lives)

[–] charlie@hexbear.net 2 points 8 months ago (1 children)

I think the bit was good! You captured how liberals profess to stand behind “Logic and Reason” and how quickly they abandon that rhetoric when their flimsy beliefs are pushed against. They instantly abandon any semblance of logic and reason and just get vitriolic and further entrench themselves, thereby defying all logic and reason.

[–] Anne_Teefa@hexbear.net 3 points 8 months ago

Oh. I thought you were implying I was going for the eye gouging. Which, yes, yes I was. But I'm much more direct and to the point about it lmao. Not just gonna hide behind self fellating idealism.

[–] PKMKII@hexbear.net 15 points 8 months ago (1 children)

I’d be willing to at least entertain this if their solution was, build a worker’s party separate from the two pseudo-official parties that can run a multi-pronged campaign to undermine the status quo in direct action and electoral campaigns. But I’m sure he just means “vote blue no matter who and then put pressure on Team Blue with passionate tweets.”

[–] BurgerPunk@hexbear.net 12 points 8 months ago (1 children)

But I’m sure he just means “vote blue no matter who and then put pressure on Team Blue with passionate tweets.”

That and they specifically blame the least powerful people in society for everything, cause they don't vote hard enough. He doesn't feel solidarity with them, but contempt so there's no way to build anything

[–] PKMKII@hexbear.net 7 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Yeah this isn’t, let’s build a people’s movement, it’s, the plebs need to learn to obey their betters

[–] BurgerPunk@hexbear.net 7 points 8 months ago (1 children)

obey their betters

smuglord which is obviously me, the smartest person ever. Checkmate silly tankies

[–] PKMKII@hexbear.net 6 points 8 months ago

For all the kvetching libs do about temporarily embarrassed billionaires voting for Republicans based on the tax bracket they’ll be in any day now, they sure do think believing the science and knowing a few logic fallacies means they’re accepted into the intelligentsia.

[–] SuperNovaCouchGuy2@hexbear.net 11 points 8 months ago

This "person" has an inferior CPU, those responses are on par with early iterations of AI chatbots that couldn't properly follow a conversation and just shat out random strings of words in response to your messages.

[–] crispy_lol@hexbear.net 9 points 8 months ago

Hey gurl what that big ass amygdala do tho? 👀

[–] UmbraVivi@hexbear.net 9 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago) (1 children)

Dunking on the liberal aside, I don't think I agree with the statement "No communist in the west lives in an echo chamber because neoliberal propaganda/capitalist realism is all around us". In the age of algorithms, it's incredibly easy to create echo chambers for yourself, even if they diverge from the mainstream narrative in your IRL surroundings. It's not about what you hear, but about what you listen to.

[–] BurgerPunk@hexbear.net 9 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago)

That's a fair point. But i think my argument holds up as pushback on libs using the "echo chamber" accusation in a bad faith way.

What you're saying is true, and is something we should be aware of, but that's not the conversation this lib is trying to having
