I'm personally all for letting people decide if they should vote, but it's entirely Biden's fault that people don't want to vote for him.

My man won't even defend abortion without mincing words.

Libs have really been taking sick pleasure lately in the idea that the ungrateful will be punished by their enemies. This cycle has really brought the goodcop/badcop routine into stark relief.

[–] Rod_Blagojevic@hexbear.net 33 points 9 months ago (1 children)

I'm not sure I had the correct read on the situation, but I felt like punishing the ungrateful working class people was why Sinema seemed so exuberant when voting against a minimum wage increase. At the time, the narrative I was getting from the liberals around me (drunk on CNN and msnbc bullshit) was that Trump was president because of a mixture of Russian intrigue and the inherent stupidity of people that are also poor. As usual, there was no class based analysis, no recognition that lots of poor people don't even vote, and definitely no distinction between rural working people and petty bourgeois tyrants using working class aesthetics. These liberals somehow came away with the idea that American politics are actually controlled by people living in collapsing trailers, so punishing them by withholding a higher minimum wage was a good thing to do.

I still remember an incident from back when I posted on an extremely lib now defunct politics message board on a gaming site a few years before I found Hexbear

There was this story about a train filled with shit from NY being sent to an Alabama town and how the residents were suffering

Over 100 bloodthirsty replies from inhuman neoliberal scum all screaming "that's what they get for voting for Trump!"

Apparently I was the only one who actually read the article beyond the title so I pointed out that the vast majority of that town were black and hadn't voted for Trump, I didn't get a single response or even any acknowledgement from those worms

That was the day I began to understand that liberals are irredeemable, I will never forget

Yeah it sucked so bad, so glad I found this place (ironically by someone posting a link to chapo.chat there)

American Liberals seem to hold pretty much everyone in that same regard because almost everyone is an enemy in potential. With Liberalism imploding away, Liberals hold that both leftists and republicans should die for 'voting against their interests'. An actual fascist demanding mass murder is in that sense not at all different from a socialist who demands that the right to abortion be codified in law - because the corollary there is that once the Liberal Party refuses to do so it must be punished.

This leftist belief is in accordance to what Liberals ostensibly want and believe in, both in the sense of wanting abortion codified and trust in representative democracy. So the only way for Liberals to square that hole is to twist everything into itself. It's not that Biden is a genocidal maniac who was once one of the people in charge of a Liberal Supermajority that did absolutely nothing. It's that the political opponents of the Liberal Party are too dumb to understand politics.

[–] beef_curds@hexbear.net 31 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago)

The "voting against their own interests" line is so bankrupt. They're currently arguing people should vote for the dude supporting a genocide on their families.

..and regularly get persuaded by pundits not to pick a candidate who aligns with their ideals because that "wouldn't have broad appeal."

[–] invo_rt@hexbear.net 15 points 9 months ago

Liberal Supermajority that did absolutely nothing

The parliamentarian's tyranny knows no bounds

[–] HeavenAndEarth@hexbear.net 51 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Imagine thinking that Trump will bring about this dystopia if he's elected, and the only thing you're doing to stop it is browbeating progressive voters. If libs actually believed this shit they would be organizing in paramilitary groups, not posting memes

[–] oscardejarjayes@hexbear.net 17 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Too many of them are focused on restricting access to firearms, a lot of the areas with loads of libs also have an AWB. Honestly though, we might need some paramilitary groups of our own.

[–] Wakmrow@hexbear.net 9 points 9 months ago

No, you don't need a paramilitary group.

You need a bunch of friends who are into the second amendment 🥰

[–] Outdoor_Catgirl@hexbear.net 48 points 9 months ago

At least be real with it. Have her say "I didn't want to support genocide." That's the actual complaint, and what liberals do is prefer genocide support to orange man.

[–] happybadger@hexbear.net 48 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Liberals: pls use the imperial presidency to ensure federal protections over abortion access

Catholic Joe: biden-troll actually threatens to use imperial presidency to shut down the border because republicans won't enact his refugee policy that's somehow worse than Trump's

[–] zed_proclaimer@hexbear.net 18 points 9 months ago (1 children)

actually threatens to use imperial presidency to shut down the border because republicans won't enact his refugee policy that's somehow worse than Trump's & won't give 60 billion dollars to corrupt Nazis.

[–] happybadger@hexbear.net 19 points 9 months ago (1 children)

60 billion dollars to corrupt Nazis and 14 billion dollars to fund his ongoing genocide against Palestinian children

[–] zed_proclaimer@hexbear.net 11 points 9 months ago

The 14 billion to Israel is going through. 99% of both parties support it. The only question is whether it will be standalone or bundled with Ukraine money to try and force GOP house into folding.

[–] CyborgMarx@hexbear.net 43 points 9 months ago (1 children)

What happened to reproductive rights under Genocide Joe anyway?

[–] Ram_The_Manparts@hexbear.net 32 points 9 months ago (1 children)

It's going great. Actually, abortions are mandatory now. Look it up.

[–] glans@hexbear.net 25 points 9 months ago (1 children)

My friend's sister's kids go to school where the teachers encourage kids as young as 6 or 7 to have abortions. Little kids! Even the girls.

[–] Ram_The_Manparts@hexbear.net 17 points 9 months ago

Literally crying right now

[–] Dirt_Owl@hexbear.net 41 points 9 months ago (1 children)

So biden must be rolling back those abortion bans as we speak then?

[–] jackmarxist@hexbear.net 29 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago)

No he'll do it after he's elected as president

[–] D61@hexbear.net 35 points 9 months ago (2 children)

"I just didn't want to see the kids stuck inside cages at the border..."

[–] Adkml@hexbear.net 6 points 9 months ago

Yea thank God we elected Biden so he could solve that problem by proposing to end the asylum program.

[–] kristina@hexbear.net 32 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago) (2 children)

This movie really is absurd. Whole franchise is really just liberal panic that has little basis in reality

Also imagine seriously thinking this dystopia is right around the corner and not violently opposing it

[–] PorkrollPosadist@hexbear.net 45 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago) (2 children)

Imagine thinking we're not already there. What, does it only become dystopian when we don anachronistic 19th century costumes? People are already being jailed for miscarraiges, the chuds are instructing state national guard formations to disobey the federal government and Joseph Robinette Buchanan isn't doing anything about it.

[–] kristina@hexbear.net 16 points 9 months ago (2 children)

I mean, we've yet to see a nuke go off over Texas, so I wouldn't say its gospel

[–] Vncredleader@hexbear.net 10 points 9 months ago

That's what they want you to think

[–] GladimirLenin@hexbear.net 7 points 9 months ago (1 children)
[–] kristina@hexbear.net 6 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago)

its honestly a pretty key part of the story, the whole reason handmaidens are a thing is because most women are infertile as a result of nuclear fallout (which is unlikely anyways), and then powerful men use this as an opportunity to curtail womens rights in order to be able to have more children. the outfits are pretty silly too, ngl. its a pretty nonsensical series, really.

[–] kot@hexbear.net 15 points 9 months ago

That's the point of fiction though, it acts as a sort of 'mirror' which makes things more evident than they would be if you they were just shown as they are. It's always a critique about the world we live in, not of a vague possible reality.

Hey check this out.

It's actually bidens responsibility to not objectively suck ass and not voters responsibility to vote for a candidate no matter how many times the candidate explicitly says they won't do what the voter wants.

[–] Umechan@hexbear.net 9 points 9 months ago

Exactly. If they're going to get angry at anyone, they should get angry at Biden. What has he done to earn people's votes?

[–] Egon@hexbear.net 28 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago) (3 children)

Lmao also great election strategy to reduce the critiques people have of your candidate to "he's kinda old I dunno". I'm sure that if they shut their ears and go "lala I can't hear you" then people will definitely vote for them.

Also if you really do believe that Trump will bring about this future, why are you not doing anything other than smugposting about imaginary leftists?

[–] anarchoilluminati@hexbear.net 14 points 9 months ago (2 children)

why are you not doing anything other than smugposting about imaginary leftists?

Are you saying Hexbear is just a bunch of libs? I knew it.

[–] UmbraVivi@hexbear.net 11 points 9 months ago (1 children)

No, they're saying none of this is real. Open your eyes. Look around. There's nobody here. It's time you wake up, old friend.

[–] Egon@hexbear.net 10 points 9 months ago

Nono, there's one real leftist here somewhere

[–] Adkml@hexbear.net 9 points 9 months ago

To be fair to the libs when has completely ignoring any criticism of a candidate and insisting that anybody who says they don't like them is actually just sexist error sorry ageist ever backfired.

DO NOT QUESTION THE VALIDITY OF THE CIRCUMSTANCES PERTAINING TO THE DECISION PRESENTED TO YOU, CITIZEN

[–] WhatDoYouMeanPodcast@hexbear.net 23 points 9 months ago (1 children)

I personally thought not voting for the pedophile rapist genocidal geriatric fascist would have counted for something

biden-point "Did I stutter? Nothing will fundamentally change, Jack!"

[–] Hexbear2@hexbear.net 22 points 9 months ago

This mindset disgusts me. Biden needs to be held accountable for his failures. Him not stepping down is entirely his own doing, and no is obligated to support him. IF he's truly not competent, then invoke the 25th--Get him out of there. Kamala will be entirely ineffective and get trounced in 2024, so she won't be the candidate, probably best scenario within the realm of possibility.

[–] Egon@hexbear.net 15 points 9 months ago

This is a picture of Joe Bidens America btw. The other handmaidens are annoyed because she brings this up every day

[–] lorty@lemmy.ml 14 points 9 months ago

Replace with "I voted blue" and it's the same thing.

[–] SnowySkyes@hexbear.net 13 points 9 months ago

This kinda reminds me of the discourse that surrounded RBG before she died.

[–] RyanGosling@hexbear.net 13 points 9 months ago

Lol if only one man can prevent society from turning into The Handmaiden, and you’re doing NOTHING as a backup plan, then you have utterly failed as a political movement. Obviously, the democrats are cunning, but that’s not how the voters portray their own party.
