As the gunshots moved closer, 5-year-old Shahid ran to her father, Ali, and hid behind his legs. She tugged at his pants.

“Daddy, let’s go. Let’s move from here,” she says trembling, tears streaking her cheeks. “Let’s move again before they get us. They will get us.”

The “Yahoo” banner seems a bit unfortunate and ill-placed in light of the topic.

I don't know, I feel it brings something...a bit of good cheer and comic relief, which is always needed when discussing....checks notes... Ah yes, colonial settler violence, indigenous displacement, and ethnic cleansing.

Do settlers qualify as “Israeli's” yet ? Time to be judged for their inhumane action? Is that still antisemitism?

The problem is, whatever you say against any person that by accident is also jewish, you will be called "antisemite" for it. It is a natural defense reflex. Even if you have clear video evidence of the person e.g. raping and killing babies, you will be the evil antisemite.

If being against murder, war crimes, and genocide is being an antisemite, then so be it. I will be a proud antisemite. It will be a badge of honor.

[–] kurwa@lemmy.world 6 points 9 months ago

No don't do that, then you get lumped in with actual anti semites. What should really be said is that calling stuff like this "anti semitic" just allows for real anti semitism to flourish. So really, those calling anything anti semitic are the real anti semites.

W need to take their shield of anti semitism away, not try to break it.

Anti semitism is a thing that is real. It's just that israel is not representing Jews in any actual way and still using it.
